30 Day Devotional Using The SOAP Method - Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer 




30-day Old Testament devotional using the SOAP method (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer). Each day will include:

  • Scripture (from the Old Testament, NKJV)

  • Observation – a brief reflection on the scripture

  • Application – practical ways to live it out today

  • Prayer – a short prayer related to the scripture

  • Affirmation – a positive declaration based on the scripture

  • Journal Prompt – a question or exercise for deeper reflection

Here’s a complete 30-day plan:


Day 1

Scripture: Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Observation: God is our source of courage and protection. Fear has no power over those who trust Him.
Application: When fear creeps in, recall that God is your light and strength. Speak courage over yourself.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust in Your power today and cast away fear.
Affirmation: I am strong and fearless because the Lord is my light and salvation.
Journal Prompt: Write about a fear you are facing and how trusting God changes your perspective.


Day 2

Scripture: Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Observation: God promises His presence, help, and strength in all circumstances.
Application: Speak this promise aloud when anxiety arises; let His assurance calm your heart.

Day 3

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Day 7

Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
