When the Bible Is Blocked but Witchcraft Is Promoted — A Messianic Response of Truth, Wisdom, and Light
A Story Many of Us Never Expected to Live
A father walked into his local library with his child.
He had one simple goal.
He wanted to print a few Bible verses so his child could memorize the words of Yeshua.
But when he searched for Scripture… the page wouldn’t load.
Blocked.
He tried again.
Blocked.
Another Bible website.
Blocked again.
Confused, he looked around the library computer screen and noticed a banner advertisement for an upcoming community event.
It read something like this:
- Reiki healing
- Shamanic practices
- Tarot readings
- Psychic readings
- Palm readings
- A séance
- Chakra dancing
- White magic
- Kitchen witchery
- A Seraphim circle
Even children’s activities were listed.
Face painting.
Henna art.
Mystical workshops.
The father stared at the screen.
His heart sank.
The words of the Bible were blocked.
But occult practices were being celebrated.
He quietly whispered,
“God… how did we get here?”
If you are reading this, you may have felt the same shock.
But Scripture already warned us this day would come.
And more importantly…
God already gave us the response.
The Ancient Pattern: When Darkness Is Celebrated and Truth Is Silenced
This situation is not new.
Israel experienced it many times.
When truth disappears from public spaces, other spiritual systems quickly fill the vacuum.
The prophet Isaiah described a society that had reversed moral reality.
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.”
— Isaiah 5:20
This is exactly the spiritual confusion we are witnessing today.
Not only is biblical truth pushed aside.
Practices that Scripture warns against are now marketed as wellness and entertainment.
But before we react emotionally, we must first understand what the Bible actually says.
What Scripture Says About Occult Practices
God did not warn Israel about these practices because He was afraid of them.
He warned them because they open doors to spiritual deception.
The Torah is extremely clear.
“There shall not be found among you anyone… who practices divination, or a soothsayer, or an interpreter of omens, or a sorcerer.”
— Deuteronomy 18:10
It continues:
“For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord.”
— Deuteronomy 18:12
Notice something important.
The Bible groups together practices that today are often marketed as:
- tarot
- psychic readings
- spirit communication
- séances
- magical rituals
- energy healing practices connected to spiritual powers
These are not new inventions.
They are ancient spiritual systems the Bible already addressed thousands of years ago.
But Why Do People Seek These Things?
Here is where we must slow down and show compassion.
Most people who attend these events are not trying to rebel against God.
They are searching.
Searching for:
- healing
- answers
- direction
- peace
- spiritual experiences
- hope
The human heart was created for connection with the Creator.
When that connection is missing, people naturally look elsewhere.
Even in the days of the prophets, Israel sometimes turned to other spiritual sources.
Isaiah confronted this directly.
“When they say to you, ‘Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,’ should not a people consult their God?”
— Isaiah 8:19
This verse is incredibly relevant today.
The issue is not curiosity.
The issue is where we go for spiritual guidance.
What Yeshua Said About Light and Darkness
Yeshua spoke about this spiritual reality with profound clarity.
He explained that truth and deception cannot share the same foundation.
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.”
— Matthew 6:22
And He warned that spiritual darkness can disguise itself.
“If the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness.”
— Matthew 6:23
In other words:
Something can look spiritual.
Something can feel mystical.
Something can even feel peaceful.
But that does not mean it comes from God.
Why the Blocking of Scripture Matters
When a public institution blocks access to Scripture while promoting occult themes, something deeper is happening.
It reveals a cultural shift.
A shift where:
- biblical truth is considered controversial
- spiritual experimentation is considered harmless
- ancient warnings are dismissed as outdated
But Yeshua warned that truth would not always be welcomed.
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.”
— John 15:18
This does not mean we should respond with anger.
Instead, Yeshua gave us a completely different strategy.
The Messianic Response: Light, Not Fear
The followers of Yeshua are not called to panic.
We are called to shine.
Yeshua said something powerful about this.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
— Matthew 5:14
Notice what He did not say.
He did not say:
- You are the protesters of the world
- You are the angry voices of the world
- You are the fearful observers of the world
He said:
You are the light.
And light works in a very specific way.
It does not fight darkness.
It simply shines.
What This Means Practically
When situations like this happen, believers often ask:
“What should we actually do?”
Here are several wise and biblical responses.
1. Stay Rooted in Scripture
Even if institutions block it, Scripture must remain central in our homes.
Moses instructed Israel to do exactly this.
“These words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children.”
— Deuteronomy 6:6–7
Libraries may change.
Cultures may shift.
But the Word of God can still live inside families.
2. Teach Children Discernment
Children today are growing up in a world filled with spiritual confusion.
They need loving guidance, not silence.
Explain:
- why certain practices are spiritually dangerous
- how God desires a direct relationship with His people
- why we seek wisdom from Him alone
Yeshua emphasized protecting children spiritually.
“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck.”
— Matthew 18:6
3. Pray for the Community
Instead of only criticizing, believers are called to pray.
Abraham prayed for cities.
The prophets prayed for nations.
Yeshua prayed even for those who rejected Him.
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
— Matthew 5:44
Prayer changes spiritual atmospheres in ways we cannot see.
4. Become a Source of Truth
If people are searching for spiritual answers, we must be ready.
Yeshua said:
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
— John 8:32
This means we should be able to lovingly explain:
- what the Bible teaches
- why certain practices are spiritually harmful
- how true healing and guidance come from God
The Deeper Spiritual Battle
Ultimately, this situation is not about a library event.
It reflects a much deeper question humanity has always faced.
Where will we seek spiritual power?
From:
- mystical rituals
- spirit communication
- energy systems
- divination
Or from the living God?
Joshua confronted Israel with the same choice.
“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
— Joshua 24:15
Every generation must make that decision again.
Including ours.
A Final Encouragement
It can feel discouraging when Scripture is pushed out of public spaces.
But remember something remarkable.
The Bible itself predicted this.
And yet the message of Yeshua has continued to spread across every culture and every generation.
Because truth cannot be permanently suppressed.
Yeshua declared:
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”
— Matthew 24:35
Libraries may block websites.
Institutions may ignore Scripture.
Cultures may experiment with spiritual alternatives.
But the Word of God continues to live wherever people open their hearts to it.
And that is where the real light shines.
The Question for Our Generation
The issue is no longer whether spiritual ideas will influence society.
They already do.
The real question is this:
Will the followers of Yeshua remain silent, or will we become the light He called us to be?
Because when truth is spoken with humility…
When Scripture is shared with love…
When faith is lived authentically…
People who are searching will notice.
And many will discover what they were actually looking for all along.
The living God.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
And the Messiah who said:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
— John 8:12
