The Covenant Lost: A Story About How Witches Stole America From The Puritans

The Covenant Lost: A Story About How Witches Stole America From The Puritans

A Mystery Thriller Inspired by Scripture

---

Prologue

"The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever." – Deuteronomy 29:29

The year was 1620 when the first seeds of darkness were sown. They came with whispers in the night, hidden beneath the guise of explorers, seekers of new lands. But their true purpose was far more sinister. They were not merely men and women; they were harbingers of the old ways—sorcerers, witches, and worshipers of forbidden gods.

For centuries, this land had been consecrated, watched over by a remnant of God’s chosen. The land itself groaned with sacred history, its soil still rich with the prayers of the righteous. But the enemy had arrived, cloaked in deception, carrying unholy relics and forbidden knowledge.

The children of God, the faithful who had sought refuge in this land, did not yet understand the war that was coming. They were sheep among wolves. And the wolves had begun their hunt.

Chapter 1: The Arrival of Shadows

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness." – Isaiah 5:20

The wind howled over the rocky shores of what would one day be known as New England. A ship, its hull dark and weathered, docked under the cover of night. The pilgrims, those seeking a promised land, disembarked. But among them walked others—those who did not kneel to the Almighty but to spirits of old, to gods who demanded blood and fire.

At first, they hid well among the faithful. They mimicked prayers, whispered “Amen” when needed, and attended church services with bowed heads. But in the depths of the forests, beyond the reach of the lantern’s glow, they built altars to forgotten deities.

The first signs of their influence came subtly. The children of God—men and women who had sought a holy land—began to suffer. Their crops withered without reason. Their livestock sickened overnight. Dreams of darkness plagued their sleep, whispers filling the air when none stood near.

The elders of the settlement turned to the Scriptures. They fasted, they prayed, seeking wisdom.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world." – Ephesians 6:12

They knew now: they were not alone in this land.

Chapter 2: The Unholy Pact

"There shall not be found among you anyone who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead." – Deuteronomy 18:10-11

Years passed, and the darkness grew bolder. The witches—once hidden—now whispered in the ears of leaders, spreading corruption like a disease. Pagan rituals took place in secret, the smoke of their offerings curling into the night sky.

And then came the first betrayal.

Governor Jonathan Hale, once a steadfast man of faith, began to change. He spoke less of God and more of “understanding other beliefs.” He removed certain prayers from town meetings, calling them “restrictive.” He sought council from strangers—mystics who spoke in riddles.

The faithful watched in horror.

"You shall not make a covenant with them, nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me." – Exodus 23:32-33

But it was too late.

The witches had made their move. They had found the weaknesses in men’s hearts—pride, greed, the hunger for power. They whispered promises of wealth and knowledge, and many listened.

A night came when the moon shone red over the town. That was the night the first church burned.

The children of God fought back, but their numbers were few. One by one, those who refused to bow to the new order were cast out, their lands taken. Some vanished without a trace, while others were accused of the very sorcery their enemies practiced.

Witch trials, they called them. But the true witches were the judges themselves.

Chapter 3: The New Kingdom

"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." – Matthew 24:11

By the 1800s, America was no longer the land it had been. The war had been fought not with swords, but with deception. The children of God had become a scattered remnant, their voices drowned beneath the growing tide of occultism, freemasonry, and secret societies.

The land once consecrated to the Almighty now bore strange symbols—pyramids, eyes that watched from the shadows. New laws were passed, silencing those who spoke too boldly of Christ. Schools taught not of scripture, but of men’s philosophies. Science and magic intertwined in secret halls, birthing new forms of control.

The witches no longer hid. They no longer needed to. They sat in high places, ruled in courts, dictated laws. And all the while, they laughed, for they had stolen the land.

But prophecy had not been forgotten.

The children of God, though scattered, had not perished.

And there were whispers—whispers of a coming war, a final reckoning.

Epilogue: The Remnant’s Call

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." – Isaiah 41:10

Deep in the mountains, far from the cities that gleamed with false light, a gathering took place. They were few—descendants of those who had once consecrated this land. But they had not forgotten the promise.

One among them, a woman of fire and faith, stood before the assembly. She raised a worn Bible, its pages tattered from use.

“The enemy believes they have won,” she said. “They think they have taken this land forever.”

She turned to Isaiah, her voice steady, resolute.

"But no weapon formed against you shall prosper." – Isaiah 54:17

A murmur of agreement spre

ad through the room.

The battle was not over.

It had only just begun.
