Genesis 49:18 Reveals A Secret About Yeshua You Might Have Missed
I Will Wait for Your Salvation – Genesis 49:18
“I have waited for Your salvation, O LORD.” – Genesis 49:18
These words, spoken by Jacob in his final blessings to his sons, stand as a timeless declaration of faith and hope. In the midst of prophetic words, warnings, and blessings, Jacob pauses and utters a short, heartfelt cry: “I will wait for Your salvation, O LORD.”
This simple statement reflects the heart of every believer who trusts in the promises of Adonai. Waiting is never easy. We live in a world that craves speed, instant results, and immediate gratification. Yet, in the Kingdom of God, waiting is not wasted time—it is holy time. It is the season in which our faith is tested, our trust is purified, and our eyes are lifted above earthly solutions to look only toward Yeshua, our promised Redeemer.
For the Messianic believer, this verse is especially rich. Jacob, centuries before Yeshua’s birth, declared his hope in the Yeshuah of the LORD. The very Hebrew word used—Yeshuah—points prophetically to the One who would bring complete redemption to Israel and the nations. When we read this verse today, we see not only Jacob’s longing but also the fulfillment in Messiah Yeshua, who is our salvation.
Waiting on the LORD does not mean sitting idly. It means standing firm in obedience, remaining steadfast in prayer, and walking in holiness while trusting that God is faithful to fulfill His promises. It means that when the world tries to rush us, when fear whispers that God has forgotten, we choose to echo Jacob’s words: “I will wait for Your salvation, O LORD.”
Beloved, do not grow weary in the waiting. God has not forgotten you. His salvation is near. The same God who remembered Israel in Egypt, who brought them out with a mighty hand, and who revealed His salvation through Yeshua will not fail you. He is faithful yesterday, today, and forever.
Let us declare with confidence today: “I will wait for Your salvation, Adonai, for You alone are my deliverer.”
