Prayer for Simchat Torah: Rejoicing in the Living Word

Avinu Malkeinu, my Father and my King,

On this Simchat Torah, I lift my voice to rejoice in Your Word, the Torah You gave to Israel, and the Living Torah revealed in Yeshua HaMashiach. “The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7). Abba, Your Word is life, light, and truth. Today I rejoice that You have not left me in darkness, but You have spoken, and Your Word remains forever.

I dance with joy in the Torah, for it is written: “Blessed is the one… whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on His law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water” (Psalm 1:1–3). Father, plant me deeply in Your Word. Let my roots go down into Your truth. Let me bear fruit in season so that all may see and glorify Your Name.

HaShem, You commanded through Moses: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength” (Deuteronomy 6:4–5). Yeshua Himself affirmed this as the greatest commandment (Mark 12:29–30). Abba, I rejoice today that Your Torah points me to love You above all else and to love my neighbor as myself.

Father, I rejoice in Yeshua, the Living Torah, the Word made flesh, for it is written: “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Today I celebrate that Yeshua is the embodiment of Torah, perfect in obedience, radiant in holiness, and revealed for the salvation of Israel and the nations.

Cover me, Abba, in the shield of Yeshua’s blood, that I may approach You with boldness and purity. Let the fire of God burn in me, consuming every falsehood, igniting passion for Your Word, and sending forth light into the world. “Is not My word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29). May Your fire through the Torah and through Yeshua break the hardness of my heart and transform me into Your likeness.

Father, glorify Yourself through Your Word. Yeshua prayed: “Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth” (John 17:17). Abba, sanctify me through Your Torah, through the teachings of Yeshua, through the Spirit of holiness. Let me not only read the Word, but live it, so that my life becomes a testimony of Your truth.

On this Simchat Torah, I remember the promise of Isaiah: “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever” (Isaiah 40:8). Nations rise and fall, kings come and go, but Your Torah remains. Your promises never fail. Your Word is eternal.

Father, expand Your Kingdom through the Torah and through the Living Torah, Yeshua. As Yeshua proclaimed: “This gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Let the Word of truth speed forth like fire to every tribe and tongue, until all the earth declares that Yeshua is King and HaShem alone is God.

Abba, I end this festival season with rejoicing. From Pesach to Shavuot to Sukkot, You have carried me, sustained me, and revealed Your glory. Now, as I celebrate the gift of Torah and the joy of Yeshua, I pray with the psalmist: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). Lead me in the way everlasting, that I may glorify Your Name in all I do.

HaShem, glorify Yourself in Israel. Glorify Yourself in the nations. Glorify Yourself in me. I rejoice in Your Torah. I rejoice in Yeshua. I rejoice in the fire of Your Spirit and in the covering of His blood.

B’shem Yeshua HaMashiach — in the Name of Yeshua the Messiah,

Amen.
