Prayer To Bless Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement

This prayer magnifies HaShem, invokes the shield of Yeshua’s blood, the fire of God, and seeks the expansion of His Kingdom through Yeshua. It ends in Yeshua’s Name, with Scripture only from the Tanakh and the Gospels.

Prayer for HaShem’s Blessing on Yom Kippur

Avinu Malkeinu, my Father and my King,

On this holy Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, I lift my heart to You in reverence and awe. HaShem, You are high and lifted up, seated upon the throne of glory. Your Name is holy and awesome, and Your mercy endures forever.

I ask that You bless this Yom Kippur, Father. May this day be a true covering, a day when Your people return to You in humility and truth. As it is written: “Return to Me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 3:7). Let this Yom Kippur be a day of great returning, not only for me but for all Israel and for the nations who call upon Your Name.

I come before You under the shield of Yeshua’s blood. I know that my own righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6), but through Yeshua, You have given me a perfect covering. “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). May His blood shield me, my household, and all who put their trust in Him.

Abba, I ask that the fire of God burn upon this Yom Kippur. Let Your holy fire purify, refine, and renew Your people. As it is written: “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, that they may bring offerings in righteousness to the LORD” (Malachi 3:3). Burn away every impurity in me, every hidden sin, and every trace of pride. Yeshua said: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). Father, let me see You in purity and truth.

Father, glorify Yourself in this Yom Kippur. May Your great and awesome Name be magnified across Israel and the nations. As it is written: “I am the LORD, that is My Name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols” (Isaiah 42:8). And Yeshua taught: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9–10). May this sacred day bring glory to You alone.

I lift up Israel before You, Father. On this Day of Atonement, remember Your covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Fulfill Your promise: “I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication; they will look on Me, the One they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him” (Zechariah 12:10). Bless Israel with revelation of Yeshua, the true and eternal atonement.

I lift up the nations before You as well. Yeshua said: “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Father, let this Yom Kippur ignite a fire of repentance and awakening across the earth. Bless the nations with the knowledge of Yeshua. May Your Kingdom expand until every tribe and tongue glorifies Your Name.

Abba, let this Yom Kippur not be an ending but a beginning — a gateway into a year of revival, renewal, and restoration. Let the shield of Yeshua’s blood protect us, let the fire of God sanctify us, and let the glory of HaShem shine upon us. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14).

So I pray with Yeshua’s words: “Father, glorify Your Name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again” (John 12:28). Yes, Father, glorify Yourself through this Yom Kippur, through Yeshua HaMashiach, and through the expansion of Your Kingdom on earth.

B’shem Yeshua HaMashiach — in the holy Name of Yeshua the Messiah,

Amen.
