Prayer for Healing Acid Reflux (GERD)
Oh, my Father, Hashem, the One who fashioned me, who knit me together in my mother’s womb, I come before Your throne of grace and mercy this day. I come in my weakness, in the discomfort of this body You have given me. The fire of acid rises, a constant reminder of fragility, a thief of peace and rest. This reflux burns within me, a troubling flame that disrupts the sustenance You provide. So I turn to You, the Source of all life, the Great Physician, and I ask not merely for relief, but for Your glory. Let this very affliction become an altar upon which Your faithfulness is displayed, so that Your Kingdom may expand through Your Son, my Messiah, Yeshua.
Hashem, You are my Rock and my Redeemer. I recall Your promise in Exodus 15:26, where You declared, “I am Hashem who heals you.” I cling to that name, to that nature. You are my healer. The psalmist cried, “Bless Hashem, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:2-3). I remember Your benefits now. I speak of Your goodness even from this place of discomfort. Let every cell, every muscle, every function of my esophagus and digestive system hear the proclamation: Hashem is my healer.
And so, Almighty Father, I bring this physical body under the covering of the finished work of Your Lamb. I apply, by faith, the shield of Yeshua’s blood over my life, over my health. Just as the blood on the doorposts in Egypt was a sign for deliverance, I plead the blood of the final Passover Lamb, Yeshua, over every internal process within me. Let this sacred shield extinguish the inflammatory fires of this condition. Let it be a barrier against all that seeks to corrode and harm the temple of Your Spirit. I declare that I am redeemed, and I ask for that redemption to manifest in my physical restoration, for Your name’s sake.
Now, I invite Your holy presence to consume what is not of You. Send the fire of God—not the burning of illness, but the refining fire of Your Spirit! As it is written, “For I, Hashem your God, am a jealous God,” let Your jealous love burn away every root of imbalance, every trigger of distress, every spirit of infirmity that would exploit this weakness. Purify my body as a furnace purifies silver. Let Your fire restore proper boundaries within me, that the waters of my digestive system would flow only where You have ordained, and the gates would close against unlawful ascent. Cleanse me with Your holy flame.
Father, this is my deepest cry: Be glorified. If healing comes in a moment, I will shout Your praise. If it comes through wisdom and gradual renewal, I will testify to Your faithful guidance at every step. Let my journey, whatever it entails, point to You. Let doctors see Your hand. Let my family witness Your sustenance. Let my own heart be assured of Your intimate care. May this trial not be wasted but become a testimony that opens doors for Your Kingdom. For Yeshua said, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). I desire to shine, even from this place, for You.
Yeshua, my Redeemer, walked in the power of this Kingdom. I remember the woman who touched the fringe of His garment, for she said, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.” And Yeshua turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well” (Matthew 9:21-22). I reach for You, Yeshua. I see You healing all who came to You, for “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases” (Matthew 8:17, quoting Isaiah 53:4). I claim that bearing now. I stand on Your compassion that heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).
I silence the voice of affliction with the declaration of the prophet: “But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings” (Malachi 4:2). You, Yeshua, are that Sun. I stand in the dawning of Your healing light. I command this body to align with the truth of Your Word. Be still, inflammation. Be calmed, erratic nerves. Function in harmony, as You, Hashem, designed from the beginning. I speak peace to this entire system, for You are the God of peace who sanctifies me wholly, spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
I place my hope and my trembling body into Your faithful hands, Abba. Not my will, but Yours be done. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in my digestive tract as it is in heaven. I receive Your healing, Your peace, and Your strength. I will tell of Your works. I will sing of Your love. I will eat and drink to Your praise, in wisdom and gratitude, a living testament to Your power.
I pray all this in the mighty, holy, and glorious name of Yeshua ha’Mashiach, the One who bears our sicknesses and carries our pains, the King through whom Your Kingdom is forever expanding.
Amen.
