Prayer for Healing Cough, Cold, Flu & Strep Throat
My Father in Heaven, Hashem, the One who breathes life into dust, I come before Your throne of grace and mercy this day. I acknowledge You as my Creator, my Healer, my Ever-Present Help in times of trouble. My body is weakened, my throat is raw, my spirit is weary from this affliction—this cough that shakes my frame, this cold that clouds my mind, this fever that burns, this infection that battles within me. Yet, I do not come seeking only relief for myself; I come first seeking Your face, Your glory, and the expansion of Your Kingdom through Your Son, my Messiah, Yeshua.
Hashem, Your name is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. I run to You now. You are Yahweh-Rapha, the LORD who heals. You declared to Your people, “For I am Yahweh who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). I hold onto that ancient and everlasting promise. Let Your healing virtue flow into every cell, every tissue, every breath of my being. Let my body, Your temple, be cleansed and restored, that it may serve You in strength.
I plead the shield of Yeshua’s blood over my life. As the blood of the Passover lamb marked the doors for deliverance, so the perfect, sinless blood of the Lamb of God marks me for deliverance from this sickness. It is a covering, a protection, a covenant sign of my redemption. Under this shield, I find refuge. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and I declare this sickness is a weapon that will not prevail. Just as the prophet Isaiah foretold of the suffering servant, “by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). I receive the fullness of that healing purchased for me by Yeshua’s sacrifice.
Now, Father, send the fire of Your presence! Send the fire of God to consume every trace of infection, every virus, every bacterium, every inflammation. Let it be the refining fire that burns away the dross of sickness but leaves my spirit purified and stronger in You. Your prophet Elijah called down fire from heaven to confirm Your power and authority. I do not call for a sign, but for the same consuming fire of Your Holy Spirit to sweep through my body, bringing sterilizing purity and revitalizing life. “For our God is a consuming fire” (Deuteronomy 4:24). Let that holy fire burn within me now, restoring my health with its intense and purifying power.
Father, be glorified in this weakness. Be magnified in this moment of need. Let every symptom that surrenders, every degree of fever that breaks, every breath that clears, be a testimony to Your goodness and faithful love. Let my healing be a signpost pointing directly to You, so that others may see and put their trust in Hashem. May Your Kingdom expand through this very act of mercy. As Yeshua preached, “But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33). I seek Your Kingdom first. Let my restored health be used to proclaim that Kingdom, to serve Your people, and to shine the light of Messiah in a darkened world.
You, O Lord, are my strength and my song. You have become my salvation. I will give thanks to You, for You have answered me. I will declare the works of Hashem. I will live and declare the works of the Lord.
I stand on Your word through the psalmist: “Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness” (Psalm 41:3). I stand on the compassion of my Messiah, Yeshua, who “healed all who were sick,” fulfilling the word spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases” (Matthew 8:16-17).
So I receive Your healing. I receive Your strength. I receive Your peace. From the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, I speak wholeness and restoration in the authority of the One who commanded fevers to leave and lungs to clear. Let this healing be complete, that I may rise from this place and worship You in spirit and in truth, a living testament to Your power and grace.
All this I pray, with a heart full of gratitude and expectation, in the mighty and precious name of Yeshua HaMashiach. Amen.
