Prayer for Healing a Gout Attack
My Father in Heaven, Hashem, the One who is, who was, and who is to come, I come before Your throne of grace in this hour of affliction. This pain, this fire in my joints, shouts of a world broken by sin, a body subject to frailty. Yet I, Your child, cling to You, for You are my Maker and my Healer. I lift my eyes to the hills—from where does my help come? My help comes from Hashem, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Father, I confess my utter dependence on You. You formed me from the dust and breathed into me the breath of life. Every part of me, even this afflicted foot and throbbing joint, is known to You. You have searched me and known me. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. So I do not hide this pain from You. I lay it bare before Your compassion, trusting in Your promise that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.
I take up now the shield of faith, and I specifically plead the shield of the precious blood of Your Son, my Messiah, Yeshua. By His stripes, I was healed. That eternal, covenant blood covers me, protects me, and speaks a better word over my body than any affliction can shout. It is my defense against the accuser who would have me doubt Your love in this suffering. I stand beneath that poured-out blood, and I declare it is sufficient. It is my rescue and my refuge.
Now, Hashem, my Healer, I ask for Your consuming and purifying fire. Let the holy fire of Your presence fall upon this inflammation. Let Your divine fire encounter this earthly fire of pain, and let Your fire win! Burn away the crystals of affliction. Burn away the inflammation. Burn away every trace of disorder. Purify my bloodstream as only Your refining fire can. For You are a consuming fire, a refiner’s soap. You sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; purify this body that I might offer it back to You in service. Let Your fire bring not destruction, but cleansing, restoration, and glory to Your name.
Abba, above all, in this moment of seeking relief, I seek Your face. I seek Your glory. Let this very circumstance become a platform for the expansion of Your Kingdom through Yeshua. If You will bring healing, let it be a testimony that points to the power of the Messiah’s name. Let it declare that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is alive and active, and that His Son has authority over every sickness. May those who see or hear of Your work in me turn their hearts toward You. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in my body as it is in heaven. For it is written, “But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays.”
I stand on Your eternal Word, Hashem. You said, “I am Hashem who heals you.” Your Son, Yeshua, walked in Galilee, and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, and He healed them all. He said, “The Spirit of Hashem is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.” This gout attack feels like a prison, like oppression. So I cry out to the One anointed to set me free. Yeshua said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” I am asking, seeking, and knocking for the door of healing to be opened.
Let every easing of pain, every cooling of heat, every return of strength be a chorus of praise to You. Let my healed walk be a dance of testimony. Be magnified in my weakness, Father. Be exalted in my recovery. Let Your name, Hashem, be glorified—in my home, in my conversations, in my very flesh. For Yours is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
I bring this prayer, trusting not in my own merit, but in the merit of the Lamb who was slain. I ask all these things in the mighty, holy, and healing name of Yeshua ha’Mashiach.
Amen.
