10th Nisan - Selecting the Lamb - The Day Everything Changed - Why “Selecting the Lamb” Will Transform Your Faith Forever 🔥
10th Nisan - Selecting the lamb
I didn’t always understand why this day mattered.
Honestly, for years, it just felt like another detail… another date… another command buried in the Torah.
Until one day, it stopped being information—and became invitation.
An invitation to look closer.
To slow down.
To choose… the Lamb.
🌿 The Moment Israel Had to Decide
I imagine myself there.
Standing in Egypt. The air thick with tension. Deliverance is close—but not here yet.
And then the instruction comes:
“Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb…’” — Exodus 12:3
Not later.
Not when it’s convenient.
Not when they feel ready.
On the 10th day… choose the lamb.
💔 Here’s the part that hits me:
They had to bring the lamb into their home.
Live with it
See it
Hear it
Grow attached to it
Before sacrifice ever came.
🕊️ This Was Never Just About a Lamb
This was about the heart.
God wasn’t just preparing them for freedom…
He was preparing them for relationship, surrender, and trust.
And I realized something uncomfortable:
👉 I wanted deliverance… without deeply choosing the Lamb.
✨ When Yeshua Walked Into Jerusalem… It Was Not Random
Years later, something incredible happens.
Yeshua enters Jerusalem—on the exact same timeline.
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’” — John 1:29
The Lamb had arrived.
And just like in Egypt…
The people had to decide.
🚨 The Real Question Isn’t “Do You Believe?”
It’s deeper than that.
The real question is:
👉 Have you chosen the Lamb… personally?
Because choosing the Lamb means:
Letting Him into your daily life
Not just honoring Him from a distance
Not just visiting Him on holy days
But living with Him… closely
💭 My Honest Struggle
I’ll be real with you.
There have been seasons where I said I followed Yeshua…
But I kept Him at arm’s length.
I wanted His promises
I wanted His peace
I wanted His protection
But I didn’t fully invite Him into:
My decisions
My fears
My habits
My hidden places
🔥 Selecting the Lamb Requires Intentional Surrender
Israel couldn’t ignore the command.
And neither can we.
Because this step comes before deliverance.
📌 What does “selecting the Lamb” look like today?
It looks like:
Choosing obedience over comfort
Choosing trust over control
Choosing intimacy over routine religion
📖 Yeshua Made It Personal
He didn’t call crowds to admire Him.
He called individuals to follow Him.
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” — Matthew 16:24
That’s not passive.
That’s intentional.
That’s choosing.
💡 The Problem Most of Us Don’t Realize
We delay the decision.
We say:
“I’ll get serious later.”
“I’ll go deeper when life settles down.”
“I’ll fully surrender when I understand everything.”
But the command was clear:
👉 Select the lamb on the 10th day.
Not someday.
🌊 Before the Blood… There Was a Choice
This is what changed everything for me.
The blood on the doorposts didn’t come first.
The choice did.
First: selecting
Then: living with the lamb
Then: sacrifice
Then: redemption
🕯️ What Happens When You Truly Choose the Lamb
Something shifts.
Not just spiritually—but deeply, internally.
You begin to:
Hear His voice more clearly
Recognize conviction quicker
Experience peace even in uncertainty
Walk in identity instead of confusion
❤️ This Is Not About Perfection
Let me say this gently:
God didn’t ask Israel to be perfect before selecting the lamb.
They were still in Egypt.
Still surrounded by darkness.
Still imperfect.
But He asked for one thing:
👉 A decision.
📣 And Today… The Invitation Still Stands
Yeshua is not forcing His way into your life.
He is standing at the door.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock…” — Revelation 3:20 (Note: commonly quoted, but let’s stay anchored in the Gospels context of invitation and response.)
And throughout His ministry, He demonstrated this same pattern:
“Follow Me.” — Matthew 4:19
🔑 Your Breakthrough Might Be Waiting on This One Step
Not more knowledge.
Not more striving.
Not more effort.
But a deeper, intentional choosing of the Lamb.
✨ Reflection: Ask Yourself Honestly
Take a moment. Don’t rush this.
Have I truly invited Yeshua into every area of my life?
Or only the parts I’m comfortable surrendering?
Am I delaying obedience in something He already showed me?
Have I chosen Him… or just believed about Him?
🙏 A Simple Prayer From My Heart
Abba…
I don’t want to stay distant anymore.
I choose the Lamb.
Not just in words—but in my life.
Come into every place I’ve kept closed.
Every fear I’ve hidden.
Every habit I’ve justified.
Teach me to walk closely with You.
Prepare my heart—not just for deliverance…
But for true relationship.
In Yeshua’s name, amen.
🌿 Final Thought That Will Stay With You
The 10th of Nisan is not just a date.
It’s a decision.
And every year… every season… every day…
You are invited again:
👉 Select the Lamb.
