Prayer for Gum Graft Surgery
A Messianic Jewish Prayer for Healing, Peace, and the Glory of HaShem
Avinu Shebashamayim, my Father in heaven,
HaShem Elohai, my God and my King,
I come before You with humility, reverence, and trust. I lift my eyes toward You, the Maker of heaven and earth, the One who gives life, sustains life, heals, restores, and holds every breath in Your hand.
You are HaShem, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You are the God of Israel. You are the God who revealed Your name, Your character, Your holiness, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness to Your people. You are not distant from me. You see me completely. You know my fears before I speak them. You know my thoughts before I express them. You know every concern surrounding this gum graft surgery, and nothing about this procedure is hidden from You.
I come before You through Yeshua, Your Messiah, trusting in Him and asking that everything surrounding this surgery ultimately bring glory to Your holy name.
You have said:
“Behold, I am HaShem, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for Me?”
— Jeremiah 32:27
Father, there is nothing too difficult for You.
So I place this surgery into Your hands.
I place my mouth into Your hands.
I place my gums into Your hands.
I place my teeth and jaw into Your hands.
I place the surgeon, dental team, assistants, instruments, medications, anesthesia, decisions, timing, healing, and recovery into Your hands.
I surrender the entire process to You.
Let Your will be accomplished.
Let Your name be honored.
Let Your Kingdom advance.
Let Yeshua be exalted.
And above everything else, let the Father be glorified.
Father, I ask You to go before me into the surgical room.
Go before me when I arrive.
Go before me when I sit in the chair.
Go before me when the procedure begins.
Go before the hands of everyone caring for me.
Give them wisdom, steadiness, precision, attentiveness, patience, and good judgment. Let nothing be overlooked. Let every necessary detail be handled carefully. Give the medical and dental professionals clarity concerning my particular needs.
Guide their hands.
Guide their eyes.
Guide their decisions.
Guide their words.
Give them calmness and concentration.
Where there could be uncertainty, bring clarity.
Where there could be confusion, bring order.
Where there could be anxiety, bring peace.
Where there could be difficulty, provide wisdom and skill.
I pray that the entire procedure will be orderly, controlled, safe, and successful.
Father, I ask for Your protection over every part of me.
Be my shield.
Be my refuge.
Be my strong tower.
Be my defender.
As Your servant David declared:
“But You, HaShem, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head.”
— Psalm 3:3
I receive that truth with humility.
You are my shield.
And I ask specifically for the protection and covering that I associate with the blood of Yeshua, the Messiah. Let the sacrifice of Your Messiah remind me that I belong to You, that I am not abandoned, and that Your mercy is greater than my fear.
Let the shield of Yeshua’s blood stand before me as a testimony of Your mercy and redemption.
Not because I am righteous in myself, but because You are merciful.
Not because I can control the outcome, but because You are sovereign.
Not because I understand everything, but because I trust You.
Father, quiet every fearful thought that attempts to overwhelm me.
Quiet the imagination that runs toward worst-case scenarios.
Quiet the voice that says, “What if something goes wrong?”
Instead, let me hear Your voice reminding me:
“Fear you not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.”
— Isaiah 41:10
Father, I choose to believe Your Word.
I choose to remember that You are with me.
I choose to remember that my life is not ultimately controlled by circumstances.
I choose to remember that You are HaShem.
You are my God.
You are faithful.
You are near.
You are sovereign.
And I ask You to fill me with shalom.
Not merely the absence of fear, but deep shalom that reaches into my thoughts, emotions, body, and spirit.
Yeshua said:
“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.”
— John 14:27
Yeshua, I receive those words with faith.
Let Your peace govern my heart.
When I think about the surgery, give me peace.
When I think about anesthesia, give me peace.
When I think about pain, give me peace.
When I think about recovery, give me peace.
When I wake afterward, give me peace.
When I experience swelling, tenderness, or discomfort, give me peace and wisdom.
When I am tempted to become impatient, give me patience.
When I am tempted to become frightened, remind me that my Father is with me.
When I am tempted to imagine the worst, turn my attention back toward You.
Father, I ask for the fire of God to surround this entire situation—not as a fire of destruction, but as a holy testimony of Your presence, purity, power, and protection.
Let the fire of God burn away fear.
Let the fire of God burn away despair.
Let the fire of God burn away confusion.
Let the fire of God burn away every thought that contradicts Your faithfulness.
Let Your holy presence surround me.
As Your Word says:
“For You, HaShem, are a fire consuming, even a jealous God.”
— Deuteronomy 4:24
And again:
“For our God is a consuming fire.”
— Deuteronomy 4:24
Father, let Your holiness remind me that You are not a small God.
You are not limited by what I see.
You are not limited by what I understand.
You are not intimidated by circumstances.
You are the Creator.
You formed the human body.
You established its marvelous design.
You know every tissue, every nerve, every blood vessel, every bone, every cell, every connection, every process of healing.
David declared:
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
— Psalm 139:13–14
Father, You know my body better than anyone.
You know precisely what needs to happen for proper healing.
You know what the surgeon will see.
You know what the surgeon will need.
You know what my gums need.
You know what my body needs during recovery.
Therefore, I ask You for wisdom and successful healing.
Let the graft heal properly.
Let the tissue receive what it needs.
Let the surgical site remain protected.
Let healing progress in the proper order.
Let my body respond well.
Let there be no unnecessary complication.
Let there be no preventable problem.
Give me wisdom to follow the instructions I am given.
Help me to rest when I need to rest.
Help me to protect the surgical area.
Help me to take appropriate medications as instructed.
Help me to eat and drink appropriately during recovery.
Help me to recognize when something needs professional attention.
Give me discernment rather than fear.
Let me neither ignore a genuine concern nor become consumed by imaginary ones.
Give me wisdom.
Father, I ask for Your protection against infection and complications.
Guard the surgical site.
Guard the surrounding tissues.
Guard my mouth during the healing process.
Give my body strength to recover.
Let the healing be thorough.
Let the healing be orderly.
Let the healing be complete.
Father, I ask for relief from unnecessary pain.
If discomfort comes, give me endurance.
If swelling comes, give me patience.
If recovery feels slow, keep me from despair.
Teach me to take each day as it comes.
Yeshua said:
“Therefore, do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
— Matthew 6:34
So I give tomorrow back to You.
I do not need to live tomorrow today.
I do not need to experience tomorrow's discomfort before tomorrow arrives.
I do not need to rehearse every possible outcome in my mind.
Today, I can trust You.
Tomorrow, I can trust You.
On the day of surgery, I can trust You.
During recovery, I can trust You.
Father, teach me to walk by faith rather than by fear.
Teach me to keep my eyes upon You.
Teach me to remember Your faithfulness.
Teach me to speak words of faith.
Teach me not to magnify the problem above the greatness of my God.
I declare that You are greater than my anxiety.
You are greater than my fear.
You are greater than this procedure.
You are greater than pain.
You are greater than uncertainty.
You are greater than every circumstance.
You are HaShem.
And I worship You.
Father, I ask that my surgery become an opportunity for Your name to be glorified.
Let the outcome point me toward gratitude.
Let the care I receive remind me of Your provision.
Let the healing remind me that every good gift ultimately comes from You.
Let the experience deepen my dependence upon You.
Let it make me more compassionate toward others who are facing medical or dental procedures.
Let it make me more patient.
Let it make me more thankful.
Let it make me more aware of the fragility and preciousness of life.
Let it make me more faithful.
And, Father, if You open doors through this experience for me to speak about Your goodness, give me courage and wisdom.
Let me never use Your name carelessly.
Let me never boast as though I control healing.
Instead, let my testimony point toward You.
Let people see Your faithfulness.
Let people hear about Your mercy.
Let people recognize the hope found in Your Messiah.
Let Your Kingdom expand through Yeshua.
Yeshua taught us to pray:
“Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
— Matthew 6:10
So I pray that now.
Your Kingdom come, Father.
Your will be done.
In my life.
In my home.
In my circumstances.
In my recovery.
In every place where my life touches another person's life.
Let Your Kingdom advance through Yeshua.
Let Yeshua be lifted up.
Let people encounter the mercy of the God of Israel.
Let hearts turn toward You.
Let people seek Your truth.
Let Your name be sanctified.
Let Your purposes prevail.
Father, I do not want this prayer to become merely a request for physical comfort.
I want You to be glorified.
If I receive relief, glorify Yourself through it.
If healing comes quickly, glorify Yourself through it.
If healing requires patience, glorify Yourself through my patience.
If the recovery is easy, make me grateful.
If recovery is difficult, make me faithful.
Whatever happens, do not let me lose sight of You.
I ask for healing, but above healing I ask for Your glory.
I ask for protection, but above protection I ask for Your Kingdom.
I ask for comfort, but above comfort I ask that Your name be honored.
Father, You said:
“I am HaShem, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another.”
— Isaiah 42:8
So let this entire experience belong to You.
Let the glory belong to You.
Let the praise belong to You.
Let the testimony belong to You.
Let the gratitude belong to You.
Let my life belong to You.
I surrender this procedure to You.
I surrender the outcome to You.
I surrender my fears to You.
I surrender my expectations to You.
I surrender my questions to You.
And I ask You to establish me in trust.
Father, I ask that You would help me remember the words of Moses:
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear, nor be afraid of them; for HaShem your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
— Deuteronomy 31:6
You go with me.
Therefore, I do not go alone.
When I enter the dental office, You are with me.
When I sit in the chair, You are with me.
When the procedure begins, You are with me.
When I wake afterward, You are with me.
When I begin recovery, You are with me.
When I sleep, You are with me.
When I wake in the morning, You are with me.
Your presence is not dependent upon how I feel.
Your faithfulness is not dependent upon whether I feel brave.
You remain faithful.
Father, let me rest beneath Your protection.
As the psalmist wrote:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of HaShem, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’”
— Psalm 91:1–2
HaShem, You are my refuge.
HaShem, You are my fortress.
HaShem, You are my God.
In You I trust.
I ask that You surround me with Your peace.
Surround me with wise care.
Surround me with competent hands.
Surround me with attentive professionals.
Surround me with people who will encourage me.
Surround me with Your presence.
And let the shield of Yeshua's blood remind me that Your mercy has made a way for me to approach You with confidence and gratitude.
Father, I ask for grace during every stage of recovery.
Give me self-control.
Give me patience.
Give me wisdom.
Give me endurance.
Give me restful sleep.
Give me appropriate nourishment.
Give me strength.
Give me peace.
Help me not to rush the healing process.
Help me not to become careless when I begin feeling better.
Help me to protect what needs protection.
Help me to follow appropriate professional instructions faithfully.
Help me to know when to ask for help.
Help me to recognize progress without becoming presumptuous.
Father, let healing proceed according to the marvelous order You established within the human body.
And if I experience pain, let it not become my master.
If I experience fear, let it not become my master.
If I experience uncertainty, let it not become my master.
You alone are my Master.
You alone are my King.
Father, I ask You to place a song of praise within me.
Let my mouth, which is undergoing this procedure, ultimately become an instrument of praise.
Let my healed mouth speak words that honor You.
Let my lips bless Your name.
Let my voice proclaim Your goodness.
Let my speech encourage the discouraged.
Let my testimony strengthen those who are afraid.
Let my words point people toward Yeshua.
David prayed:
“O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare Your praise.”
— Psalm 51:15
Father, open my lips for praise.
Let my mouth be dedicated to You.
Let my words be truthful.
Let my speech be gracious.
Let my testimony be humble.
Let my life become an offering of gratitude.
And when this procedure is behind me, let me remember what You have done.
Do not allow me to receive the blessing and forget the Giver.
Do not allow me to move forward without gratitude.
Let me say, “Thank You, HaShem.”
Thank You for carrying me.
Thank You for giving wisdom.
Thank You for providing care.
Thank You for sustaining me.
Thank You for every moment of recovery.
Thank You for every sign of healing.
Thank You for every person You use to help me.
Thank You for the gift of life.
Thank You for Yeshua.
Father, I pray that my trust in You would not depend upon a particular outcome.
I believe You are good.
I believe You are faithful.
I believe You are worthy of worship.
I believe Your purposes are greater than my immediate circumstances.
I believe You hear the prayers of Your people.
I believe You are able to sustain me.
And therefore I choose trust.
Father, I also ask You to give me the courage to receive appropriate human care without fear.
Give me wisdom to cooperate with the professionals You have placed in my path.
Let faith never become an excuse for carelessness.
Let trust in You produce wisdom rather than recklessness.
Help me to be attentive.
Help me to communicate clearly.
Help me to ask appropriate questions.
Help me to follow sound professional instructions.
And through all of it, let me remember that every skill, every discovery, every instrument, and every capacity for healing ultimately exists beneath Your sovereignty.
Father, Your Word says:
“Blessed is the man who trusts in HaShem, and whose trust HaShem is.”
— Jeremiah 17:7
So I place my trust in You.
Not in circumstances.
Not in my own strength.
Not in my ability to predict everything.
Not in fear.
Not in imagination.
But in You.
HaShem Elohai.
The God of Israel.
The God of Abraham.
The God of Isaac.
The God of Jacob.
The God who brought Israel out of Egypt.
The God who remains faithful to His covenant promises.
The God who sent forth His Messiah.
The Father whom Yeshua taught us to honor.
Father, may my life proclaim Your greatness.
May this surgery somehow become another testimony that I can walk through uncertain circumstances while holding onto You.
Let me emerge from this experience not merely physically healed, but spiritually strengthened.
Increase my faith.
Increase my gratitude.
Increase my compassion.
Increase my patience.
Increase my love for You.
Increase my desire for Your Kingdom.
Increase my desire to know Your Word.
Increase my desire to follow Yeshua.
Increase my desire to see Your name honored among the nations.
Let Your Kingdom expand through Yeshua.
Let Your truth go forth.
Let Your mercy reach the broken.
Let Your light shine into darkness.
Let people who are afraid discover hope.
Let people who are hurting discover compassion.
Let people who are searching discover truth.
Let people who are far from You be drawn toward You.
Let Your name be lifted high.
Father, I ask that You be glorified in every detail.
Be glorified in the preparation.
Be glorified in the procedure.
Be glorified in the recovery.
Be glorified in the healing.
Be glorified in my testimony.
Be glorified in my words.
Be glorified in my attitude.
Be glorified in my faith.
Be glorified in my gratitude.
Be glorified in everything.
Yeshua said:
“I glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.”
— John 17:4
Father, I want my life to reflect that same desire—to glorify You with what You have entrusted to me.
I ask that my life would become increasingly aligned with Your purposes.
I ask that this experience would draw me closer to You rather than merely make me grateful that an uncomfortable event has ended.
Make me more aware of Your presence.
Make me more sensitive to Your leading.
Make me more faithful to Your Word.
Make me more devoted to Yeshua.
Make me more eager for Your Kingdom.
Father, I ask You to guard my heart against pride.
If everything goes smoothly, let me not boast.
If recovery is difficult, let me not accuse You.
Instead, teach me to remain humble and steadfast.
Your Word says:
“Trust in HaShem with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
So I acknowledge You now.
I acknowledge You in the surgery.
I acknowledge You in the healing.
I acknowledge You in my fear.
I acknowledge You in my hope.
I acknowledge You in my uncertainty.
I acknowledge You in my gratitude.
Direct my path.
Father, let Your peace settle deeply within me.
Let me breathe slowly.
Let me remember Your name.
Let me pray.
Let me worship.
Let me trust.
And when fear tries to rise again, let me return to You.
HaShem is my refuge.
HaShem is my shepherd.
HaShem is my strength.
HaShem is my shield.
HaShem is my hope.
HaShem is faithful.
I will not make fear my god.
I will not make the procedure my god.
I will not make pain my god.
I will worship You.
Father, I ask for Your mercy over every person involved.
Bless the surgeon.
Bless the dental assistants.
Bless everyone responsible for my care.
Give them wisdom.
Give them patience.
Give them steady hands.
Give them clear judgment.
Give them compassion.
Protect them from distraction and error.
Let everyone involved do their work carefully.
And let me respond with kindness and gratitude.
Father, I ask for grace if anything unexpected arises.
Give the medical team wisdom immediately.
Give me peace immediately.
Give everyone clarity.
Prevent panic.
Prevent confusion.
Prevent unnecessary complications.
Make the right course of action clear.
And carry me through whatever comes.
For You have said:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and the flame will not kindle upon you. For I am HaShem your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”
— Isaiah 43:2–3
Father, I hold onto that promise of Your presence.
You are with me.
Therefore, I can face this.
I do not need to pretend that I am fearless.
I simply need to remember that I am not alone.
Give me courage that comes from knowing You.
Give me peace that comes from trusting You.
Give me strength that comes from Your presence.
And let the fire of God remind me that Your holiness surrounds every aspect of my life.
Father, I ask for complete healing in Your mercy.
Let the graft take properly.
Let the tissues heal.
Let the surgical area recover.
Let my mouth become healthy and strong.
Let the healing produce a good result.
And after the procedure, help me to protect the work that has been done.
Give me discipline.
Give me patience.
Give me wisdom.
Let my future health be strengthened.
Let me learn whatever I need to learn.
Let me care for the body You have entrusted to me.
Father, I recognize that my body belongs ultimately to You.
My breath belongs to You.
My strength belongs to You.
My future belongs to You.
My mouth belongs to You.
My words belong to You.
My life belongs to You.
Therefore, I dedicate this experience to You.
May it become an altar of gratitude in my heart.
May I remember Your goodness.
May I remember Your faithfulness.
May I remember that You carried me.
And may the final result be this:
The Father is glorified.
Yeshua is honored.
The Kingdom advances.
Faith grows.
Fear loses its grip.
Healing is received with gratitude.
And my mouth is used to praise HaShem.
Father, I pray all of this with reverence and trust.
You are greater than my fears.
You are greater than my circumstances.
You are greater than the unknown.
You are my God.
You are my Father.
You are HaShem.
I place myself into Your hands.
I place this surgery into Your hands.
I place the outcome into Your hands.
I ask for protection through the shield of Yeshua's blood.
I ask for Your holy fire to surround and purify this situation.
I ask for Your peace to fill me.
I ask for Your wisdom to guide everyone involved.
I ask for Your healing mercy to sustain my body.
I ask for Your Kingdom to expand through Yeshua.
And above all, I ask that You, Father, be glorified.
May I walk into this procedure with faith.
May I walk through it with peace.
May I walk out with gratitude.
May I recover with patience.
May I testify with humility.
And may every word that comes from my mouth ultimately point back to You.
As Yeshua taught:
“Therefore let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16
Father, let my life shine in such a way that people glorify You.
Let this experience become part of that testimony.
Let Your name be honored.
Let Your Kingdom come.
Let Your will be done.
Let Yeshua be exalted.
Let Your mercy surround me.
Let Your peace guard me.
Let Your fire purify me.
Let the shield of Yeshua's blood remind me of redemption.
Let healing unfold.
And let all glory, honor, praise, and thanksgiving belong to You, HaShem, the God of Israel, my Father in heaven.
I trust You.
I worship You.
I thank You.
I surrender to You.
And I ask all these things through and in the name of Yeshua the Messiah,
Amen.
