Prayer For Salmonella Infection

Prayer for Salmonella infection

A Messianic Jewish Prayer for Healing and the Glory of Hashem

Avinu Shebashamayim, my Heavenly Father,
Hashem, the Holy One of Israel,
I come before You with humility, faith, reverence, and hope. I lift my eyes toward You, the Creator of heaven and earth, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of Israel, the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who is merciful and compassionate.

Father, I acknowledge that You alone are God. There is none beside You. As it is written: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” (Deuteronomy 6:4)

I come before You in the name of Yeshua, the Messiah, trusting not in my own righteousness, strength, wisdom, or ability, but in Your mercy and Your faithfulness. I ask You to be glorified in my body, in my circumstances, in my healing, and in every part of this trial.

Father, I bring before You this salmonella infection. You know every detail of what is happening within me. Nothing is hidden from You. You know every symptom, every weakness, every discomfort, every disturbance, every fear, and every need before I speak a word.

As David declared, “O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.” (Psalm 139:1–2)

So I ask You, Hashem, to search me, sustain me, and have mercy upon me.

Let Your healing hand rest upon me.

Let Your peace govern my heart.

Let Your strength uphold me.

Let Your wisdom guide every decision concerning my care.

Let Your mercy surround me.

And above everything else, let Your holy name be glorified.

Father, I proclaim that You are the One who gives life. You formed me from the dust. You know every cell of my body. You know the workings of my organs, my blood, my immune system, my digestion, my strength, and my weakness. I ask You to bring restoration and order to my body.

You said through Jeremiah, “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, says the LORD.” (Jeremiah 30:17)

Therefore, Father, I ask You for healing.

Heal me from this infection.

Strengthen me where I am weak.

Restore what has been depleted.

Give my body what it needs to recover.

Guard me from complications.

Guard me from worsening symptoms.

Guard me from dehydration and weakness.

Guard my organs and every system within me.

Give wisdom to every physician, nurse, caregiver, and medical professional involved in my care. Let them recognize what needs to be recognized and act with wisdom, skill, diligence, and compassion.

Father, I do not despise the help that You may provide through medicine, physicians, nourishment, rest, hydration, or other means. You are the giver of wisdom, and I ask You to guide every human instrument through which Your providence may work.

Hashem, You are my refuge.

Your Word says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

So I take refuge in You.

When I am uncomfortable, be my refuge.

When I am afraid, be my refuge.

When I am exhausted, be my strength.

When I am uncertain, be my confidence.

When I cannot see what tomorrow holds, remind me that You already hold tomorrow.

Father, I ask that the shield of Yeshua's blood surround me—not as a magical formula, but as an expression of my faith and dependence upon the Messiah whom You have sent. Let the finished work and saving grace associated with Yeshua remind me that I belong to You and that my hope rests in Your mercy.

I declare that my ultimate refuge is not in fear, superstition, or human strength. My refuge is Hashem.

As the psalmist says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.’” (Psalm 91:1–2)

Father, let me dwell under Your shadow.

Let me rest beneath Your wings.

Let me remember Your faithfulness when my circumstances tempt me to become afraid.

Let Your truth become louder in me than anxiety.

Let Your peace become stronger in me than distress.

Let my faith become deeper through this trial.

And let my healing become an occasion for praise.

Father, I ask You to send Your holy fire—not destructive fire against people, but the holy fire of Your presence, purity, power, and refining work. Let Your fire burn away fear, despair, hopelessness, and every thought that tells me that You have abandoned me.

Let Your holy fire awaken my heart to worship.

Let Your holy fire purify my faith.

Let Your holy fire strengthen my devotion.

Let Your holy fire remind me that You are holy.

As Moses encountered You in the burning bush, the bush burned with fire yet was not consumed. You revealed Your holiness and Your name. You said, “I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14)

Hashem, You are the eternal One.

You are the God who was, who is, and whose purposes stand.

You are not overwhelmed by what overwhelms me.

You are not confused by what confuses me.

You are not weakened by what weakens me.

You are not frightened by what frightens me.

I place myself into Your hands.

Father, I ask for physical healing, but I ask for something even greater: that You would be glorified.

If my healing is immediate, glorify Yourself.

If my healing comes gradually, glorify Yourself.

If You use doctors and medicine, glorify Yourself.

If You use rest, nourishment, hydration, time, and the body's natural processes, glorify Yourself.

In every circumstance, let my life point toward You.

Yeshua taught me to pray that the Father's name would be honored and that His Kingdom would come. Therefore I pray:

Father, hallowed be Your name.

Let Your Kingdom come.

Let Your will be done.

Let Your name be magnified through my life.

Let this illness not become an occasion for despair, but an occasion for deeper trust in You.

Let those who see my struggle see Your faithfulness.

Let those who hear my testimony hear about Your mercy.

Let those who witness my recovery give glory to You.

And let everything that happens ultimately serve Your purposes.

Yeshua said, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

So I make that my prayer.

Your Kingdom, Father.

Your will.

Your glory.

Your name.

Not mine.

Father, forgive me for the times when sickness has caused me to become consumed with myself. Teach me to seek You even while I seek healing. Teach me to worship even while I hurt. Teach me to pray even while I am weak.

Yeshua said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

Therefore, Father, I seek Your Kingdom first.

I seek Your righteousness.

I seek Your presence.

I seek Your wisdom.

I seek Your glory.

And I ask You to care for my physical needs according to Your mercy.

Father, give me daily bread.

Give me strength for today.

Give me grace for today.

Give me wisdom for today.

Give me patience for today.

Do not allow me to carry tomorrow's burdens before tomorrow arrives.

Yeshua said, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:34)

So I surrender tomorrow to You.

I surrender tonight to You.

I surrender my symptoms to You.

I surrender my fears to You.

I surrender my recovery to You.

I surrender my entire body to You.

You made me, Father.

You know me.

You sustain me.

And I trust You.

I also ask You to protect those around me. Give me wisdom to act responsibly so that this infection does not unnecessarily spread to others. Give me diligence, patience, and care. Let me make wise decisions for my own well-being and for the well-being of everyone around me.

Father, let Your compassion shape my actions.

Let Your wisdom guide me.

Let Your love govern me.

And let my faith never become an excuse for recklessness.

You are the God of truth.

You are the God of wisdom.

You are the God of mercy.

Father, I remember the words of Moses: “I am the LORD who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)

I place that promise before You with humility. I do not demand a particular timetable or dictate to You how You must act. You are God, and I am not. But I boldly ask for mercy.

Heal me, Hashem.

Strengthen me, Hashem.

Restore me, Hashem.

Sustain me, Hashem.

And let me know Your presence while I wait.

Father, when weakness comes, remind me of Your strength.

When fear comes, remind me of Your faithfulness.

When pain comes, remind me of Your compassion.

When discouragement comes, remind me that Your purposes are greater than my present circumstances.

When I am tempted to despair, turn my eyes toward You.

The prophet Isaiah declared, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. There is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” (Isaiah 40:28–29)

Father, I need that strength.

Give me strength where I have none.

Renew me when I am exhausted.

Lift me when I feel weak.

Carry me when I cannot carry myself.

And teach me to wait upon You.

“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength.” (Isaiah 40:31)

I choose to wait upon You.

I choose to trust You.

I choose to praise You.

I choose to believe that You are still God when my body is sick.

Father, I pray that this experience would expand Your Kingdom through Yeshua.

Let my testimony point people toward the Messiah.

Let people see not merely that I recovered from an infection, but that I learned to trust the God of Israel.

Let my words testify of Your goodness.

Let my life testify of Your mercy.

Let Yeshua be honored.

Let the message of the Kingdom spread.

Let hearts turn toward You.

Let Jewish and Gentile people alike encounter the hope, mercy, and truth revealed through Your Messiah.

Yeshua said, “You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)

Father, let the light You have placed within me shine even in weakness.

Let my conduct honor You.

Let my words honor You.

Let my response to illness honor You.

Let my recovery honor You.

Let my suffering, if I must endure it for a season, never become meaningless because I place it into Your hands and ask You to use my life for Your glory.

Father, I ask You to establish Your Kingdom in my heart.

Remove anything that competes with You.

Remove fear that becomes an idol.

Remove anxiety that consumes me.

Remove pride that prevents me from receiving help.

Remove despair that makes me forget Your goodness.

Replace these things with faith, wisdom, patience, humility, courage, compassion, and peace.

As David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

Create that steadfast spirit in me.

Father, let my heart remain steady.

Let my soul remain anchored.

Let my eyes remain fixed upon You.

I declare with the psalmist:

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

You are my Shepherd.

Lead me through this valley.

Restore my soul.

Guide me in paths of righteousness for Your name's sake.

And even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not surrender to fear, because You are with me.

Your rod and Your staff comfort me.

Father, prepare a table of peace for me even in the presence of my distress.

Anoint me with Your comfort.

Let my cup overflow with gratitude.

Let me remember Your goodness even before I feel completely well.

I also remember the words of Yeshua:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

So I come to You.

I bring You my weariness.

I bring You my weakness.

I bring You my concerns.

I bring You my questions.

I bring You my body.

I bring You my whole self.

Teach me to rest in You.

Father, I ask that Your peace guard my heart and mind—not because I am unaware of the seriousness of illness, but because I know that You are greater than my circumstances.

Let me act wisely without being ruled by fear.

Let me seek appropriate care without losing faith.

Let me receive help without shame.

Let me rest without guilt.

Let me recover with gratitude.

And let me never forget the source of every good gift.

Father, I ask You to glorify Your name through my healing.

May those who know me hear me say:

Hashem is faithful.

Hashem is merciful.

Hashem is my refuge.

Hashem is my strength.

Hashem is worthy of praise.

And Yeshua is the Messiah through whom I place my hope before You.

Father, I pray that the shield of Yeshua's blood would continually remind me of redemption, mercy, covenant, and the love You have demonstrated through the Messiah. Let that remembrance drive away condemnation and draw me nearer to You.

I will not put my trust in symbols, rituals, formulas, or superstition.

I will put my trust in You.

I will call upon Hashem.

I will seek wisdom.

I will walk in obedience.

I will receive appropriate care.

I will give thanks.

And I will worship.

Father, if there are lessons You desire me to learn through this experience, make me willing to learn them.

If there are habits You desire me to change, give me courage to change them.

If there are people I need to forgive, give me grace to forgive.

If there are relationships I need to restore, give me wisdom.

If there are places where I have become spiritually complacent, awaken me.

If there are places where I have forgotten Your goodness, remind me.

Use this trial to draw me closer to You.

Do not let me merely become healthier physically.

Make me stronger spiritually.

Make me more compassionate.

Make me more humble.

Make me more grateful.

Make me more faithful.

Make me more obedient.

Make me more courageous in proclaiming the goodness of the God of Israel and the hope found in Yeshua.

Father, I ask for protection over my mind.

Let no fear dominate me.

Let no catastrophic thought consume me.

Let me distinguish wisdom from panic.

Let me distinguish faith from presumption.

Let me distinguish courage from recklessness.

Give me discernment.

Give me self-control.

Give me peace.

Give me perseverance.

You told Joshua, “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

So I ask for courage now.

Be with me in this illness.

Be with me in every appointment.

Be with me in every night of rest.

Be with me when I wake.

Be with me when symptoms return.

Be with me when they begin to disappear.

Be with me through the entire process.

And when I am well again, do not let me forget You.

Father, I praise You before the answer arrives.

I praise You during the process.

I praise You after the answer.

Because You are worthy of praise regardless of my circumstances.

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1)

Your mercy endures forever.

Let that truth become an anchor in me.

Father, I ask You to make this prayer more than words. Let it become surrender.

I surrender my fear.

I surrender my expectations.

I surrender my timetable.

I surrender my need to control every outcome.

I surrender my illness.

I surrender my healing.

I surrender my future.

And I place myself into Your hands.

Yet I also ask boldly:

Have mercy upon me.

Heal me.

Restore me.

Strengthen me.

Protect me.

Sustain me.

Guide me.

And glorify Your name through it all.

Father, let Your fire burn brightly in my life.

Let Your holiness shape me.

Let Your mercy soften me.

Let Your truth establish me.

Let Your Kingdom advance through me.

Let Yeshua be lifted up.

Let the knowledge of Your glory spread.

As Habakkuk declared, “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14)

Father, let my life participate in that testimony.

May my healing become worship.

May my weakness become an opportunity to display Your strength.

May my recovery become testimony.

May my testimony become encouragement.

May that encouragement point people toward You.

And may everything return to Your glory.

I declare that You are holy.

You are faithful.

You are merciful.

You are righteous.

You are compassionate.

You are the God of Israel.

You are my refuge.

You are my strength.

You are my hope.

And I ask that through Yeshua the Messiah, Your Kingdom would advance in my life, in my family, in my community, and throughout the earth.

Father, hallowed be Your name.

Your Kingdom come.

Your will be done.

Your glory be revealed.

Your mercy be remembered.

Your healing be manifested according to Your will.

Your peace be established within me.

Your wisdom guide me.

Your presence surround me.

And Your name be exalted above every name.

I close this prayer with confidence in Your character rather than confidence in my own strength.

I trust You, Hashem.

I seek You, Hashem.

I worship You, Hashem.

I ask You to heal me, Hashem.

And I give You all glory, honor, and praise.

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” (Psalm 103:2–3)

Father, remember me in mercy.

Restore me according to Your goodness.

And when I rise from this trial, let me rise with greater faith, greater gratitude, greater compassion, and greater devotion to You.

May my life proclaim:

The LORD is good.

Hashem is faithful.

The God of Israel reigns.

And may the Kingdom of God expand through Yeshua the Messiah, to the glory of the Father.

I ask all these things with humility, faith, reverence, and thanksgiving, in Yeshua's name.

Amen.
