Kosher Healing Recipe | 5-Ingredient Chicken Pot Pie | Psalm 103:2-3

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits—Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” – Psalm 103:2-3

When life feels heavy and our bodies need restoration, there’s something deeply comforting about a warm, flaky chicken pot pie. This dish isn’t just a hearty meal—it’s a reminder that God cares about our physical needs as much as our spiritual ones. In the same way He restores our souls, He gives us good and wholesome food to nourish our bodies.

Today’s recipe is a simple, 5-ingredient kosher chicken pot pie that’s healing, satisfying, and perfect for Shabbat dinner, post-holiday rest, or a chilly evening when you need a little extra warmth in your soul.

Why This Recipe Is Healing

  • Protein-rich chicken supports muscle repair and recovery.

  • Vegetables provide vitamins and antioxidants for immune support.

  • Wholesome, dairy-free crust keeps it kosher with meat.

  • Comfort food factor—warm, soft, and satisfying, easing emotional fatigue.

  • Minimal ingredients mean less stress and more rest.

5-Ingredient Kosher Chicken Pot Pie

Serves: 4–6
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups cooked, shredded kosher chicken (leftover roasted chicken works beautifully)

  2. 1 can (about 15 oz) mixed vegetables, drained (or frozen, thawed)

  3. 1 can (about 10.5 oz) kosher pareve cream of chicken soup (look for certified kosher and dairy-free)

  4. 1 tsp kosher seasoning salt (or your favorite blend like garlic, onion, and paprika)

  5. 1 package (2 sheets) kosher puff pastry or pie crust, thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Mix filling: In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, vegetables, cream of chicken soup, and seasoning salt. Stir until well blended.

  3. Assemble pie: Lay one pastry sheet or pie crust in a greased 9-inch pie dish. Pour the filling inside and spread evenly. Cover with the second pastry sheet, sealing the edges.

  4. Vent crust: Cut 4–5 small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and flaky.

  6. Cool slightly before serving to allow filling to set.

Serving & Faith Connection

Serve this chicken pot pie with a fresh green salad and a slice of challah on the side. As you enjoy each bite, remember that the Lord is the Giver of every good gift, from the food before you to the healing of your heart. Just as this pie brings together simple ingredients to make something whole, God takes the broken pieces of our lives and makes us complete in Him.

Shabbat & Holiday Tip

You can assemble the pie earlier in the day or even the night before. Store it covered in the fridge, then bake right before serving. It’s a beautiful way to greet family and friends with the smell of fresh, flaky pastry and the comfort of a home-cooked meal.

May your table be filled with joy, your body with nourishment, and your heart with the peace of Yeshua.
