Justice For The Jewish People: A Biblical Response to the Vile Attacks in Golders Green

A Quick Summary:

· The Incident: Golders Green has suffered its eighth antisemitic attack. A synagogue and children’s nursery were defiled with excrement.

· The Emotion: Our community feels anxious, hurt, targeted, and sacredly violated.

· The Biblical Truth: God sees this injustice. He hears our cries. His heart breaks for His people. He is a God of justice.

· Our Response: We must unite in prayer, support each other, work with authorities, and anchor our souls in the timeless words of the Prophets and our Messiah, Yeshua.

· A Call to Action: This is a moment for courage, not just fear. We are called to be light in the darkness.

---

Your heart sinks. Again.

The news alert flashes on your phone. “Eighth Antisemitic Attack in Golders Green.” A synagogue. A children’s nursery. Defiled. Violated. The word “excrement” burns onto the screen.

It’s not just an attack on a building. It’s an attack on us. On our safety. On our sacred spaces. On our children’s innocence.

A deep, familiar ache returns. A mix of anger, fear, and a profound, weary sadness. “How long, O Lord?” The ancient cry of our people feels more present than ever.

You are not alone in that feeling. The Shomrim spokesperson said it perfectly: “Our community is anxious, hurt, and increasingly worried.”

This is more than a news story. It’s a personal wound. It’s a spiritual battle.

Where do we, as Messianic Jews, turn when the world feels so dark? Where is #JusticeForTheJewishPeople in this?

We turn to the only source of true comfort and ultimate justice: the Word of God. Not from a distance, but from within the pain, just as our prophets and our Messiah did.

(H2) God Sees Your Pain: You Are Not Invisible

When you feel targeted and alone, know this first: God sees. He is not distant. He is not unaware.

He is the God who heard our cries in Egypt. He is the God who sees our affliction now.

“I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.” (Exodus 3:7)

The defilement of a place of worship is a direct attack on His Name. And He takes it personally.

“For thus says the LORD of hosts: …he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.” (Zechariah 2:8)

You are the apple of His eye. Your fear is His concern. Your pain is His pain. He sees the excrement on the door, and He sees the fear in your heart. You are not invisible to Him.

(H2) The Prophetic Cry: A Biblical Mandate for Justice

Silence is not an option. Grief is valid, but passivity is not our calling. The prophets model a holy outrage that demands justice.

“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17)

Seeking justice is a holy act. It is a command. Working with Shomrim and the police to find the perpetrator isn’t just practical—it’s spiritual. It is participating in God’s command to pursue justice in a broken world.

This is not about vengeance. It is about righteousness. It is about restoring the moral order that God intended.

“Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts.” (Amos 5:15)

We must hate the evil of antisemitism. We must love the good of our community, our faith, our children. And we must maintain justice by supporting those who work to uphold it.

(H2) The Heart of Messiah: What Would Yeshua Say and Do?

Yeshua HaMashiach walked our streets. He understood Jewish life. He felt the tension of living under oppression. His heart was, and is, fully Jewish.

He wept over Jerusalem, longing to gather her children as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings (Matthew 23:37). He weeps with Golders Green today.

He also spoke directly into fear and hatred. His words are not a platitude; they are a weapon against darkness.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:43-45)

This is perhaps the most difficult command. It does not mean:

· Be a doormat.

· Ignore justice.

· Let evil go unchecked.

It does mean:

· Refuse to let hatred consume your own soul.

· Pray for the redemption of the lost individual behind this evil act.

· Trust that God is the ultimate judge, freeing us from the burden of personal vengeance.

This is how we break the cycle of hate. This is how we protect our own hearts from becoming like the hearts of our persecutors.

(H2) How Do We Live Now? A Problem-Solving Plan of Action

The emotion is real. The fear is valid. But we cannot stay there. We are a people of action and faith. Here is a practical, spiritual response:

· Acknowledge the Fear: Don’t bury it. Talk about it with your family, your rabbi, your community. Your feelings are valid. Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” It starts with honesty.

· Fortify Your Community: Now is the time to draw closer. Attend shul. Go to community events. Check on your elderly neighbors. Our strength has always been in our unity.

  · Practical Step: Organize a community walk to synagogue next Shabbat. Walk together in solidarity and safety.

· Support the Protectors: The volunteers of Shomrim are our modern-day watchmen. Support them. If you have information, call 0300 999 1234. This is a tangible way to pursue justice.

  · Practical Step: Consider donating to Shomrim NW London to support their vital work.

· Pray with Purpose: Pray for:

  · The comfort of affected families.

  · The protection of our children.

  · Wisdom for Shomrim and the police.

  · The heart of the perpetrator—that God would bring conviction and redemption.

  · For courage to replace anxiety.

· Shine Your Light: Yeshua said:

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14)

Do not hide. Be proudly, lovingly Jewish. Let your light of faith, kindness, and resilience shine all the brighter against the darkness of hate. This is our greatest defiance.

(H2) The Promise That Anchors Us: Ultimate Justice Will Come

We work for justice now. We pray for it. We demand it from authorities. But our final hope is not in human courts.

Our hope is in the God of Jacob, who will make all things right.

“And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.” (Luke 18:7-8, Words of Yeshua)

The arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward the throne of God. Justice will come.

We live in the tension of the “already but not yet.” We already have the promise. We do not yet see its full fulfillment.

Until that day, we stand. We pray. We support each other. We work with authorities. We refuse to hate. And we trust the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of Yeshua—who promises ultimate Justice for the Jewish People.

You are seen. You are heard. You are loved. You are not alone.
