Sweet Passover Brisket With Dried Fruit | Kosher Healing Recipe | Rosh Hashanah Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4–5 lbs beef brisket (first cut, trimmed)

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil

  • 3 onions, sliced

  • 4 carrots, cut in chunks

  • 1 cup prunes

  • 1 cup dried apricots

  • ½ cup raisins

  • 1 cup beef or chicken stock

  • 1 cup sweet red wine or grape juice

  • 3 Tbsp tomato paste

  • 3 Tbsp honey

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Sear brisket in olive oil until browned; transfer to crockpot.

  2. Sauté onions until caramelized; add to crockpot with carrots and dried fruits.

  3. Mix stock, wine, tomato paste, honey, and spices; pour over brisket.

  4. Cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 5–6 hours.

  5. Rest brisket 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with sauce and softened fruit.


Notes

  • Perfect for Passover Seder or Rosh Hashanah, when sweet flavors symbolize blessing.

  • Works beautifully with matzah or kugel.
