Difficulty

Cooking Vessel

  • Air fryer (basket or oven-style)

  • Mixing bowl

  • Meat thermometer (recommended)

Ingredients (Kosher)

  • 4 boneless, skinless kosher chicken breasts

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika (sweet or smoked)

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano or thyme

  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper (for heat)

⚠️ Ensure all spices are kosher-certified and free of additives.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer
    Preheat to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  2. Prepare the chicken
Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If very thick, gently pound to even thickness for even cooking.

  3. Season
In a bowl, toss chicken with olive oil and all seasonings until evenly coated.

  4. Air fry
Place chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
    Do not overcrowd.

  5. Cook
Air fry at 375°F for 7–9 minutes, flip, then cook another 7–9 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  6. Rest
Remove chicken and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This keeps it juicy.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Dry chicken?
Likely overcooked. Use a thermometer and pull at exactly 165°F.

  • Uneven cooking?
Pound chicken to uniform thickness before cooking.

  • Not browning enough?
Lightly spray with oil and cook an extra 1–2 minutes.

  • Frozen chicken breasts:
Thaw fully before cooking for best texture and safety.

Serving Suggestions

  • Slice over a kosher Caesar salad (dairy-free dressing)

  • Serve with roasted vegetables or quinoa

  • Add to wraps, grain bowls, or lettuce cups

  • Pair with chimichurri, tahini sauce, or lemon-herb drizzle

Notes

  • This recipe works with oven-style and basket air fryers; cooking times may vary slightly.

  • For Shabbat prep, cook ahead and gently reheat before serving.

  • Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

  • This chicken is excellent for meal prep, staying moist even after reheating.
