Prayer For Purity - Messianic Jewish Prayer
Avinu Malkeinu—my Father and my King—HaShem, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, I come before You with humility and awe. You are holy, holy, holy, and Your Name is exalted above all the earth. I desire that my life would bring You glory, that Your Kingdom would expand through Yeshua the Messiah, and that every thought, word, and action within me would be made pure before You.
Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. Where there is mixture, cleanse me. Where there is compromise, refine me. Where there is hidden sin, expose it by Your light and remove it by Your mercy. I do not come in my own righteousness, for I have none apart from You, but I come covered by the shield of Yeshua’s blood—blood that speaks better things, blood that cleanses, blood that redeems.
HaShem, You have said in Your Torah, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). I ask You to do this work in me now—not superficially, not temporarily, but deeply and completely. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Purify my motives, my desires, my imagination, and my will, that I may walk before You in sincerity and truth.
Let the fire of God fall upon my life—not to destroy me, but to refine me. As You purified Isaiah with a coal from the altar, so purify my lips, my mind, and my inner being. Burn away everything that does not honor You. Let Your holy fire consume pride, lust, fear, bitterness, and every unclean attachment, until only what is pleasing to You remains.
I remember the words of Yeshua my Messiah, who said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). Father, I long to see You, to know You, to walk in close fellowship with You. Make my heart pure so my spiritual eyes may be clear. Let there be no veil between You and me, no shadow that dulls my love for You.
Yeshua also prayed, “Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth” (John 17:17). Sanctify me by Your truth, HaShem. Let Your Word dwell richly within me, washing me again and again. Teach me to love what You love and to hate what You hate. Set a guard over my eyes, my ears, and my mouth, that I would not defile myself with what grieves Your Spirit.
I cling to Your promise: “Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart” (Psalm 24:3–4). I desire to stand in Your presence, not shrinking back in shame, but boldly, because You have made me clean. Strengthen my hands to do righteousness and purify my heart to seek You alone.
Yeshua, You declared, “You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you” (John 15:3). Let Your words continue to cleanse me. Abide in me, and teach me to abide in You. Apart from You I can do nothing, but in You I find life, holiness, and freedom.
HaShem, I offer my body as a living sacrifice before You. Let my life be an altar where Your fire continually burns. May my thoughts be captive to Your truth, my desires aligned with Your will, and my actions reflect Your holiness. Let my purity be a testimony that draws others to Your light, so that Your Name is glorified and Your Kingdom advances through Yeshua.
As Yeshua taught, “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Father, be glorified in me. Be glorified in my hidden life and in my public walk. Let everything I am point back to You, the Holy One of Israel.
I trust in Your promise, HaShem: “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities” (Ezekiel 36:25). Do this work in me by Your Spirit. Seal me in holiness, guard me in purity, and lead me on the ancient paths of righteousness for Your Name’s sake.
I receive Your cleansing. I receive Your refining fire. I receive the covering and protection of the shield of Yeshua’s blood. And I dedicate myself anew to live for Your glory, that Your Kingdom may expand in the earth through Your Messiah.
I pray all of this with faith, humility, and surrender, in Yeshua’s name. Amen.
