A Story From the Road
The bus was late.
Jerusalem dust clung to my shoes.
I had folded my siddur closed—not in reverence, but in quiet frustration.
I remember thinking, “I know the stories. I know the promises. But why does my heart feel so far from them?”
That day didn’t feel holy.
It felt heavy.
I had grown up with the rhythms of Shabbat, the feasts, the prayers passed down like heirlooms. But somewhere between grief, unanswered prayers, and the pressure to be strong, my faith had become something I carried instead of something that carried me.
And then—almost offensively ordinary—it happened.
I opened the Gospels again.
Not to debate.
Not to prove.
But because I was tired of pretending I wasn’t lost.
What I found there didn’t erase my Jewishness.
It restored it.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

From the very beginning, God reveals Himself in motion.

Am I betraying my people by trusting Yeshua?

“They will look on Me whom they have pierced, and mourn for Him.”

Isaiah didn’t describe a triumphant fantasy.
He described a suffering servant:

Still walks with us.
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”
— Isaiah 40:31
Not by standing still.
