- ☐ Set aside comfortable, modest clothing.
- ☐ Prepare prayer books, Tanakh, and other devotional materials.
- ☐ Spend quiet time examining your heart.
- ☐ Ask forgiveness from those you have wronged.
- ☐ Offer forgiveness to others.
- ☐ Set aside distractions such as unnecessary entertainment and social media.
- ☐ Check the exact local time when the fast begins.

- ☐ Begin the fast at the appropriate time.
- ☐ Spend time in prayer and repentance.
- ☐ Read and meditate on Scripture.
- ☐ Confess sins before HaShem and seek His mercy.
- ☐ Reflect on areas of your life that need spiritual renewal.
- ☐ Pray for your family, congregation, community, Israel, and the nations.
- ☐ Attend Yom Kippur services if possible.
- ☐ Listen to or participate in the Kol Nidre service on the evening before/at the beginning of Yom Kippur.
- ☐ Spend time in quiet reflection.
- ☐ Consider how you can live more faithfully in the coming year.
- ☐ Remember the holiness of the day and focus your heart on HaShem.

- ☐ Conclude the fast at the appropriate time.
- ☐ Eat a simple meal and drink water.
- ☐ Thank HaShem for His mercy and faithfulness.
- ☐ Begin the new season with a renewed commitment to obedience, reconciliation, and holiness.
Simple reminder: Yom Kippur is not merely a day to do things—it is a day to stop, humble ourselves, repent, forgive, pray, and draw nearer to HaShem.
