Episode Eight | The Covenant Of Blood | The Occult’s Bride | Chosen Against My Will | Short Mystery Story
The ground shook as though the very foundations of the earth groaned. The air thickened, heavy with the stench of iron and smoke. From outside came the chanting—low at first, then swelling into a chorus of voices calling on powers that should never be named.
The stranger’s grip on my shoulders tightened. His face was grave.
“They move now to the Covenant of Blood. It is their strongest chain, their most binding oath. If they succeed, it will not be only you they bind… but your child, forever.”
My knees weakened beneath me. I clutched my womb, whispering the words of David through trembling lips:
> “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” (Psalm 127:3)
Tears streamed down my face. “Adonai, this child belongs to You. Not to them. Never to them.”
The stranger nodded, fire burning in his eyes. “Then you must be ready. For they will try to seal it with your blood.”
The Gathering Outside
I crept to the shattered window. Outside, the night blazed with torches. Dozens of figures in black robes circled my house, their chanting rising into the heavens like smoke from a cursed altar.
One by one, they cut their palms and smeared their blood into the dirt, creating symbols that pulsed red as though alive. The earth itself seemed to writhe under their feet.
The leader stood at the center, holding a silver basin. His voice thundered:
“The bride has been chosen. The womb must be sealed. By blood we claim her. By blood we bind her. By blood we take the child!”
The Assault
Before I could move, the walls of my house bled. Dark red streaks oozed downward, as though life itself was being drained from the very wood. I screamed and stumbled back.
The stranger raised his hands, his voice like thunder:
“Adonai! Shield this dwelling! Place Your Name over it, as You did in Egypt when the destroyer passed by!”
And I remembered, trembling, the words of Yeshua Himself:
> “And I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18)
But the chanting grew louder, overpowering. The symbols outside blazed. The walls trembled, cracking under the weight of their unholy power.
Suddenly, a spear of fire burst through the ceiling, striking the floor between us. Blood hissed as it splattered from the basin outside, vanishing into smoke as it touched the ground.
The leader’s voice roared:
“By her blood, the covenant will be sealed!”
The Stranger’s Resistance
The stranger seized my hand, pulling me close. His voice dropped low, urgent.
“They will try to cut you. Even a drop will give them power. You must resist with everything in you. Call on His Name. Do not falter, no matter what you see.”
I sobbed. “But I am weak!”
His eyes pierced mine. “Then cling to the One who is strong. Remember the Word—”
And as if heaven itself answered, the verse surged up within me like fire:
> “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2)
The strength of His Word steadied me.
The Invasion
The door—already shattered—was torn completely off its hinges. Figures in black surged inside, their blades gleaming, their chants pounding like drums.
The leader entered last, his face hidden but his torch blazing with black fire. He raised the silver basin, still dripping with blood.
“Bride of Flame!” he bellowed. “Yield, and the pain will cease. Resist, and the blood will be taken anyway!”
The robed men advanced. I stumbled back, clutching my belly, whispering Yeshua’s words over and over:
> “Deliver us from evil.” (Matthew 6:13)
The stranger stood between me and them, but I knew—this time—they came not for him.
They came for me.
The leader lifted his blade high, the black fire reflecting in its edge.
And then, his words chilled me to the bone:
“Let the covenant be sealed in the blood of the mother!”
The blade swung downward.
