We remember that God is the One who “satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:5).

This super moist roasted turkey recipe is perfect for Shabbat, Rosh Hashanah, or Sukkot. It’s more than just a meal — it’s a blessing served on a platter, packed with healing herbs, heart-healthy olive oil, and gentle seasonings that nourish your body while lifting your spirit.

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 lemon, sliced into wedges

  • 1 onion, quartered

  • 6 cloves garlic, smashed

  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken or turkey broth (kosher)


Instructions

1. Prepare the Turkey

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).

  • Remove giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.

  • Place turkey in a large roasting pan.

2. Season Generously

  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, rosemary, thyme, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Rub the mixture all over the turkey — outside, under the skin, and inside the cavity.

3. Add Aromatics

  • Stuff the cavity with lemon wedges, onion quarters, and smashed garlic.

  • Pour broth into the bottom of the roasting pan to keep the meat moist during cooking.

4. Roast Slowly

  • Cover loosely with foil and roast for about 13–15 minutes per pound.

  • Remove foil during the last hour for a golden skin.

  • The turkey is done when the internal temperature in the thickest part of the thigh reaches 165°F (74°C).

5. Rest Before Serving

  • Let the turkey rest for 20–30 minutes before carving to lock in juices.
