Meta Description:

Discover the perfect kosher healing recipe for super moist roasted turkey, infused with herbs, faith, and biblical inspiration. A wholesome dish to bless your family during Shabbat, holidays, or any gathering.

A Meal that Nourishes Body and Soul

There’s something sacred about the aroma of a slow-roasting turkey filling your home. In the Messianic Jewish tradition, food is not only about flavor — it’s a form of worship. We remember that God is the One who “satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:5).

This super moist roasted turkey recipe is perfect for Shabbat, Rosh Hashanah, or Sukkot. It’s more than just a meal — it’s a blessing served on a platter, packed with healing herbs, heart-healthy olive oil, and gentle seasonings that nourish your body while lifting your spirit.

Why This Recipe is Healing

  • Lean protein from turkey helps muscle repair and boosts immune health.

  • Olive oil is rich in anti-inflammatory antioxidants.

  • Fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme aid digestion and calm the body.

  • Lemon provides vitamin C for immune support.

Ingredients (Serves 8–10)

  • 1 whole kosher-certified turkey (10–12 lbs), thawed if frozen

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped

  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 lemon, sliced into wedges

  • 1 onion, quartered

  • 6 cloves garlic, smashed

  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken or turkey broth (kosher)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Turkey

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).

  • Remove giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.

  • Place turkey in a large roasting pan.

2. Season Generously

  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, rosemary, thyme, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Rub the mixture all over the turkey — outside, under the skin, and inside the cavity.

3. Add Aromatics

  • Stuff the cavity with lemon wedges, onion quarters, and smashed garlic.

  • Pour broth into the bottom of the roasting pan to keep the meat moist during cooking.

4. Roast Slowly

  • Cover loosely with foil and roast for about 13–15 minutes per pound.

  • Remove foil during the last hour for a golden skin.

  • The turkey is done when the internal temperature in the thickest part of the thigh reaches 165°F (74°C).

5. Rest Before Serving

  • Let the turkey rest for 20–30 minutes before carving to lock in juices.

Serving Suggestion

Pair this turkey with roasted root vegetables, pomegranate salad, or charoset-style apple-date compote for a biblically inspired feast.

Faith Reflection

When we gather around the table, we are reminded of God’s abundant provision. Just as He fed Israel with manna in the wilderness, He continues to feed us with good things today. Let your roasted turkey be more than a main course — let it be a testimony of gratitude.

Scripture for the Table:
