Prayer At The Closing Of Shabbat | Glorify Your Name, O HaShem
Avinu Malkeinu,
My Heavenly Father, I come before You at the closing of this holy Shabbat. As the light fades and a new week begins, I lift up my heart to You in thanksgiving. You alone are worthy to be glorified. You are the One who sanctifies time, who set apart the seventh day, and who gave me rest. Now, as I step into the days ahead, I pray that my life would shine with the fire of Your Spirit, that the name of HaShem would be magnified in all the earth.
Abba, I hide myself under the shield of Yeshua’s precious blood. By His sacrifice, I have forgiveness, cleansing, and boldness to stand before Your throne. As it is written, “For this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:28). Thank You, Father, that the blood of Yeshua shields me from every accusation, silences the enemy, and marks me as Your child.
HaShem, let the fire of Your presence burn within me, refining me as silver is refined. Just as Your prophet declared, “For I, HaShem, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6). Purify my heart so that I may walk in holiness before You. Let the fire of God consume every work of darkness around me, and let Your light drive out all shadow.
Father, glorify Yourself in me, just as Yeshua prayed, “Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again” (John 12:28). May my words, my actions, and my thoughts this week bring honor to Your great Name. May people see the light of Messiah in me and be drawn to Your Kingdom.
Abba, I pray for the expansion of Your Kingdom in this world. As it is written, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). Let every nation see that salvation is found in Yeshua the Messiah. Pour out Your Spirit upon Israel and the nations, that Jew and Gentile alike would bow before the King of kings. Let every knee bend and every tongue confess that Yeshua is the Messiah, to the glory of God the Father.
HaShem, as this Shabbat closes, I ask You to strengthen me for the week ahead. Teach me to walk as Yeshua walked, in humility, in power, and in truth. “You shall love HaShem your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might” (Deuteronomy 6:5), and Yeshua confirmed, “You shall love HaShem your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). Help me to love You fully and to love my neighbor as myself, so that Your Kingdom may be revealed through my life.
Father, I consecrate this new week to You. I declare that the shield of Yeshua’s blood covers me and my household. I call on the fire of God to surround me, to guard my steps, and to keep me from evil. I pray that Your name will be hallowed through me in every conversation, every decision, and every act of kindness.
As it is written, “HaShem is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? HaShem is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?” (Psalm 27:1). With this confidence, I step into the week with courage, knowing that You go before me, behind me, and beside me.
So, Father, I close this prayer as Shabbat departs: be glorified, O HaShem. Expand Your Kingdom. Let the blood of Yeshua shield me. Let the fire of God burn within me. And let all that I am bring honor to Your holy name.
I ask this in Yeshua’s mighty name,
Amen.
