Sukkot Prayer | Prayer To Begin Sukkot, The Feast Of Tabernacles 

Prayer of Dedication for Sukkot: Dwelling in HaShem’s Presence

Avinu Malkeinu, my Father and my King,

As I enter this sacred time of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, I bow my heart before You with thanksgiving, awe, and longing. HaShem, You commanded: “Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the LORD your God” (Leviticus 23:42–43). Today I step into the sukkah, into the dwelling of humility, to remember that You are my shelter, my covering, and my eternal dwelling place.

Abba, I ask that during this appointed time, You would be glorified in my life and in the lives of Your people Israel and the nations. May this feast proclaim the greatness of Your Kingdom and the glory of Yeshua, the Living Word who “became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). Just as the sukkah is fragile, so am I without You. Cover me under the shield of Yeshua’s blood, that I may be protected and made clean.

HaShem, let Your holy fire surround me and purify me. “For I, declares the LORD, will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory within her” (Zechariah 2:5). Let the fire of God consume the dross in my life, burn away sin, and ignite within me a passion for Your Name.

I remember Yeshua’s words on the great day of Sukkot: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within him” (John 7:37–38). Father, I come thirsty. I drink deeply of Your Spirit. Let living water flow from me to bless others, that Your Kingdom might expand.

You promised through Your prophet: “Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over everything the glory will be a canopy” (Isaiah 4:5). Father, spread Your canopy of glory over me during this Sukkot. Let me dwell under the shadow of Your wings and rejoice in Your presence.

Yeshua taught me to pray: “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). Abba, may this Sukkot be a foretaste of that Kingdom — when all nations will go up to Jerusalem to worship You, as it is written: “Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles” (Zechariah 14:16). May Your Kingdom expand swiftly, and may the glory of Yeshua be revealed to Israel and the nations.

HaShem, You declared: “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people” (Ezekiel 37:27). Even as I sit in the sukkah, I long for that eternal dwelling when You will tabernacle forever with us. Until that day, keep me faithful, watchful, and clothed in the righteousness of Yeshua.

Abba, let my worship this Sukkot rise like the fragrance of lulav and etrog before You. Let my rejoicing in the sukkah proclaim to the world that You alone are my refuge and my joy. As David said: “The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).

Glorify Your Name, Father! “And a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘I have glorified it, and will glorify it again’” (John 12:28). May my sukkah be a sanctuary where Your glory dwells, a place where heaven and earth meet, where the Name of Yeshua is exalted.

I seal this prayer in the shield of Yeshua’s blood, under the fire of Your presence, and in the hope of Your Kingdom.
