Prayer Of Intercession For The Church- Messianic Jewish Prayer
Avinu Malkeinu—our Father, our King—
I come before You in humility and awe, lifting my voice as an intercessor for Your people, the Church, the Kehillah of the redeemed, both Jew and Gentile, grafted together by Your mercy. I bless and honor Your holy Name, HaShem, the Name above all names, the Name that was, that is, and that will be forever. May Your Name be sanctified in all the earth, just as it is written: “Let them praise the Name of the LORD, for His Name alone is exalted; His splendor is above earth and heaven” (Psalm 148:13).
Heavenly Father, I ask that You be glorified in Your Church. Let Your glory rest upon her like fire upon the altar, purifying, refining, and empowering. As You declared through the prophet, “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6), so I ask that Your Spirit would move mightily among Your people—not in human strength, but in holy surrender.
I place the Church under the shield of Yeshua’s blood—the blood of the Lamb who was without blemish. I proclaim the words of the Torah fulfilled in Him: “When I see the blood, I will pass over you” (Exodus 12:13). Let that same covering guard Your people today—over our minds, our hearts, our families, our congregations, and our leaders. Let every accusation of the enemy fall silent under the power of the blood of Messiah.
Father, I intercede for unity in the Body of Messiah. Remove division, pride, offense, and misunderstanding. Let the prayer of Yeshua be fulfilled among us: “That they may all be one; just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me” (John 17:21). Make us one in truth, one in love, one in purpose, so that the world may know that Yeshua is the One You sent.
Ignite the fire of God within Your Church. As You once answered Elijah, “Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt offering” (1 Kings 18:38), so let Your fire fall again—burning away compromise, fear, and lukewarm devotion. Let Your people burn with holy passion for righteousness, justice, mercy, and truth. As it is written, “Is not My word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29). Let Your Word ignite hearts anew.
I intercede for holiness among Your people, HaShem. Cleanse the Church and make her ready, for You are holy. As You spoke through Moses, “You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy” (Leviticus 19:2). Let repentance flow like living water. Create in us clean hearts, O God, just as David cried, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).
Father, strengthen the Church to stand firm in truth in a generation of confusion. Let us be salt and light, just as Yeshua taught: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). May our light shine through good works, humility, and obedience, so that You, our Father in heaven, are glorified.
I lift up the persecuted and weary within the Church. Be their refuge and strong tower, for “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1). Give courage to those who suffer for Your Name, remembering the words of Yeshua: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:10). Strengthen them with hope that does not disappoint.
Father, let Your Kingdom expand through Yeshua the Messiah. Let the good news go forth in power, not only in words but in transformed lives. As Yeshua proclaimed, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the good news” (Mark 1:15). Send Your Church into the harvest with compassion, authority, and boldness, carrying Your truth to the ends of the earth.
I intercede for pastors, elders, teachers, and shepherds. Clothe them with humility and wisdom. Guard them from pride and exhaustion. Fulfill Your promise: “I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Jeremiah 3:15). Let their leadership reflect the heart of the Good Shepherd, Yeshua, who said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep” (John 10:11).
Above all, Father, be glorified in Your Church. Let everything we do, every prayer we pray, every life we touch, bring honor to Your holy Name. As the psalmist declared, “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your Name give glory” (Psalm 115:1). May the Church arise in humility, clothed in power, anchored in truth, and ablaze with love for You.
I seal this prayer under the covering of the shield of Yeshua’s blood, trusting in Your faithfulness and Your promises. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your Kingdom continue to expand until the knowledge of Your glory fills the earth, “as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14).
I pray all of this with faith, reverence, and expectation,
in Yeshua’s name. Amen.
