Nervous System Dysregulation - When Your Body Feels On High Alert - Daily Devotional
Wound: Nervous System Dysregulation
Scripture:
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3
Reflection:
There may be days when your body feels frightened even when you cannot identify an immediate danger. Your heart may race, your muscles may stay tense, your thoughts may feel scattered, or you may feel exhausted from being constantly on alert.
Do not condemn yourself for having these responses. Your body is responding to what it perceives, and you can meet yourself with patience rather than shame.
Today, slow down. Breathe gently. Notice where you are. Remind yourself that you do not have to solve everything in this moment.
Turn your mind toward HaShem. His peace is not dependent upon everything around you being perfectly calm. You can bring your trembling, exhaustion, and uncertainty before Him.
And if these symptoms are persistent, severe, or interfering with your daily life, seeking appropriate medical or mental-health support is also an act of wisdom—not a failure of faith.
Prayer:
Father, my body feels overwhelmed, and I need Your peace. Help me slow down and remember that I am not required to carry everything at once. Quiet my fearful thoughts and teach me to rest in Your presence. Give me wisdom to care for my body and courage to seek help when I need it. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind today. In Yeshua’s name, amen.
