Ingredient Based Kosher Recipes





1. Meat (Basar)

Includes kosher land animals (those with split hooves and that chew cud) and kosher poultry.

Examples: Beef, lamb, goat, chicken, turkey.

Must be slaughtered and prepared according to kosher law.

Cannot be eaten with dairy.

Sub-categories:

Red meat recipes (beef, lamb, goat)


Poultry recipes (chicken, turkey, duck)


Meat + vegetable recipes

Meat + grain recipes





2. Dairy (Chalav)

Includes milk and milk products from kosher animals.

Examples: Cheese, yogurt, cream, butter.

Cannot be eaten with meat.

3. Pareve (Neutral)

Neither meat nor dairy → can be eaten with either.

Fish (only those with fins and scales; e.g., salmon, cod, tuna)

Eggs (from kosher birds, no blood spots)

4. Special Categories

Passover (Pesach) – recipes without chametz (leavened grain) and kitniyot (legumes, corn, rice – depending on tradition).
