Yom Kippur Prayer | Prayer For Yom Kippur, Day Of Atonement

Yom Kippur — Prayer of Cleansing, Repentance, and Renewal

Avinu Malkeinu, my Father and my King,

On this holy Day of Atonement, I bow my heart before You, HaShem, the Holy One of Israel. “Return to Me, and I will return to you” (Malachi 3:7). I come as a sinner in need of mercy, seeking Your cleansing, Your forgiveness, and Your restoration. I acknowledge that apart from You I am nothing, and that only through Yeshua, the Lamb of God, can I approach Your holy presence. “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29).

Father, I cover myself under the shield of Yeshua’s blood, trusting in His atoning sacrifice for my sins, my failures, my negligence, and my rebellious thoughts. Let the blood of Messiah protect me from condemnation and judgment, and let it cleanse my conscience so I may stand blameless before You. “For I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6).

HaShem, ignite the fire of God within me. Let the refining flame burn away all impurity, pride, and hidden sin. “For I, declares the LORD, will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory within her” (Zechariah 2:5). Purge my heart, refine my thoughts, and strengthen my spirit so that I may walk in holiness and righteousness.

I confess, Abba, that I have sinned in thought, word, and deed. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). I repent for the times I have turned from Your Word, neglected Your Torah, or trusted in my own understanding. Wash me, Father, and restore the joy of Your salvation.

Yeshua, teach me to live in obedience and truth. As You said: “If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31–32). Let the truth of Your Torah dwell in me richly, guiding my decisions, my words, and my actions.

Father, I intercede for Israel on this sacred day. “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy” (Joel 2:28). Awaken Your covenant people to repentance, to revelation, and to recognition of Yeshua as Messiah. Let Your Kingdom be revealed in the hearts of Your people.

I also lift up the nations, Abba. May the knowledge of Your glory, revealed in Yeshua, go forth to every corner of the earth. “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations” (Matthew 24:14). Let rivers of living water flow from Your people, bringing healing, salvation, and freedom to all who thirst.

HaShem, I consecrate this day to You. Let my fasting, prayer, and reflection be pleasing in Your sight. Let the Day of Atonement seal my heart for righteousness, purity, and devotion. May the shield of Yeshua’s blood protect me, the fire of Your Spirit refine me, and the glory of Your Name shine through me.

Abba, glorify Yourself in Israel, glorify Yourself in the nations, and glorify Yourself in my life. Let this Yom Kippur be a time of renewal, of cleansing, and of dedication, so that I may walk faithfully in Your ways in the coming year.

B’shem Yeshua HaMashiach — in the Name of Yeshua the Messiah, Amen.
