Shemini Atzeret Eighth Day Assembly — Prayer of Lingering in God’s Presence

Shemini Atzeret Eighth Day Assembly — Prayer of Lingering in God’s Presence

Avinu Malkeinu,

My Father and my King,

On this sacred Eighth Day, Shemini Atzeret, I linger in Your presence, delighting in Your holiness, majesty, and mercy. “On the eighth day you shall hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the LORD. It is the closing special assembly; do no regular work” (Leviticus 23:36). Father, I rejoice that You call me to pause, to remain, and to dwell in Your glory.

HaShem, cover me with the shield of Yeshua’s blood. Let the Lamb’s perfect sacrifice protect me from sin, accusation, and every work of darkness. “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). May Your blood shield me as I stand in awe before Your throne.

Ignite the fire of God within me, Abba, and let it burn in my heart, soul, and spirit. “For I, declares the LORD, will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory within her” (Zechariah 2:5). Purify my thoughts, refine my intentions, and empower me to abide in Your presence fully, so that I may reflect Your glory to Israel, to the nations, and to all who see my life.

Yeshua, let me abide in You as You said: “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine” (John 15:4). May my heart remain connected to Your Spirit, so that my life produces fruit in obedience, love, and witness. Let this Shemini Atzeret not be merely a conclusion of the festival season, but a time of renewal, transformation, and spiritual awakening.

Father, I thank You for Your steadfast love, for the joy of Your presence, and for the privilege of dwelling with You. “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1). Let my worship today rise as a sweet fragrance, honoring Your Name and declaring Your Kingdom.

Abba, I repent for any time I have rushed past Your presence, neglected Your glory, or failed to dwell in Your Word. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). Purge all distractions, pride, and self-reliance from my life, and help me to remain fully surrendered to Your will.

I intercede for Israel, Father. Open the eyes of Your people to recognize Yeshua, the Messiah, as the fulfillment of Your Word. “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy” (Joel 2:28). Let Your Kingdom be revealed in Jerusalem, in Zion, and across the nations through Your faithful witnesses.

I also lift up the nations, Abba. Let Your glory and truth, revealed in Yeshua, advance like a fire over the earth. “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Let rivers of living water flow through Your people, bringing healing, deliverance, and salvation to all who seek You (John 7:37–38).

Father, I consecrate this Shemini Atzeret to You. Let it be a time of abiding, of lingering in Your presence, of rejoicing in Your mercy, and of experiencing Your glory in fullness. May the shield of Yeshua’s blood cover me, the fire of Your Spirit refine me, and Your Name be glorified in Israel, in the nations, and in my life forever.

B’shem Yeshua HaMashiach — in the Name of Yeshua the Messiah, Amen.
