Since the Gospels record Jesus’ teachings, prayers, and actions, intercession often shows in His prayer for others, His advocacy, and His instructions to pray for others. I’ve carefully selected verses from the NKJV.

  1. Matthew 5:44 – “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

  2. Matthew 6:9-10 – “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
