You Are Not Defective - Short Encouraging Devotional for The person With ADHD

Key Verse: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." — Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

Devotional:In a world that often praises linear thinking, focus, and strict routines, having an ADHD brain can feel like a constant struggle. You might feel shame over forgotten tasks, guilt for getting distracted, or frustration with your "too-fast" mind.

However, God says you are "fearfully and wonderfully made." Your neurodivergent brain is not a mistake; it is part of how God formed you. ADHD is not a moral failing or a sign of laziness; it is a different way of experiencing the world.

Where the world sees a distraction, God sees creativity. Where others see inattention, God knows your heart is simply engaging with the world in a different way. God’s love for you is not based on your productivity or performance—it is constant. He loves you when your list is checked off, and He loves you when your day is chaotic.

Today, release the pressure of perfectionism. Bring your scattered thoughts to Him and rest in the truth that you are loved exactly as you are.

Prayer:Lord, thank You for designing me just as I am. Thank You that I don’t have to "fix" myself before You meet me. When my mind feels scattered, help me to hear Your voice and rest in Your grace. I trust that Your power is made perfect in my weaknesses. Amen.

Encouraging Thought: "Our worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God's grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God's grace." — Jerry Bridges
