10 Nisan 5786 Sunday, March 28th 2026 - The Day You Chose the Lamb - But Didn’t Realize It Chose You First
I didn’t expect that this day would confront me.
Not gently… but deeply.
10 Nisan.
A day I used to read about quickly… almost casually… until one year, I slowed down. And when I did, it felt like the Spirit whispered:
“You’ve celebrated this before… but have you entered it?”
And suddenly, I wasn’t just reading Scripture.
I was standing inside it.
🌿 The Forgotten Command That Still Speaks
Let me take you back to the beginning of this moment:
“Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb…’”
— Exodus 12:3
Pause there.
Not the 14th.
Not Passover night.
The 10th day.
That’s today.
And here’s what struck me like never before:
The lamb wasn’t chosen at the last minute
It wasn’t rushed
It wasn’t distant
It was brought close.
🐑 The Lamb Came Into the Home
“Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day…”
— Exodus 12:6
For four days… the lamb lived with them.
Can you imagine?
The children naming it
Watching it
Growing attached to it
And all along, knowing…
This lamb would die for them.
💔 The Problem We Don’t Talk About
Here’s the tension I had to face:
We love the idea of salvation…
but we often avoid the intimacy of surrender.
We want:
Protection without proximity
Redemption without relationship
Deliverance without daily awareness
But God’s pattern says:
👉 “Bring the lamb into your house first.”
And that’s where I felt conviction.
Because it’s possible to:
Believe in Yeshua
Celebrate Passover
Read Scripture
…and still keep Him at a distance.
✨ When Yeshua Fulfilled 10 Nisan
Now watch this.
This is where everything changes.
“The next day a great multitude… took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him… ‘Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
— John 12:12–13
This wasn’t random.
This was 10 Nisan.
The very day Israel was commanded to choose the lamb…
Yeshua entered Jerusalem.
Let that sink in.
The lambs were being selected in homes
And the Lamb of God was presenting Himself publicly
“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
— John 1:29
He didn’t wait to be chosen.
He came to be seen.
He came near.
He came close.
🔥 The Deeper Question: Did I Actually Choose Him?
This is where the study became personal for me.
Because I had to ask:
Have I truly brought the Lamb into my life… or just admired Him from a distance?
Signs I Was Keeping Yeshua at a Distance
I prayed… but without vulnerability
I read Scripture… but avoided conviction
I celebrated feasts… but missed the heart
And maybe you feel that too.
Not because you don’t love Him…
…but because something is still guarded.
🕊️ God’s Pattern Hasn’t Changed
What He required in Egypt still speaks today:
1. Choose the Lamb intentionally
Not culturally. Not casually.
“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…”
— Joshua 24:15
2. Bring Him close
Not once a year… but daily.
“Abide in Me, and I in you…”
— John 15:4
3. Examine the Lamb
The lamb had to be without blemish.
And Yeshua?
Questioned publicly
Examined by leaders
Found without fault
“I find no fault in Him at all.”
— John 18:38
4. Stay with Him before the sacrifice
This is the part we skip.
Those four days mattered.
They created:
Awareness
Attachment
Understanding
😭 Why This Matters More Than Ever
Because many of us are living spiritually disconnected.
We believe in the blood…
…but we’ve lost the closeness.
And here’s the truth that pierced my heart:
You cannot fully understand the sacrifice…
until you’ve truly walked with the Lamb.
💡 A Simple but Life-Changing Shift
What if today—10 Nisan—you did something different?
Not more complicated.
Just more real.
Practical Ways to Enter This Moment
Sit quietly and invite Yeshua into your present reality
Read John 12 slowly… as if you are there
Ask honestly: “Where have I kept distance?”
Speak to Him like He’s actually near (because He is)
🌅 The Moment Everything Changes
I remember the exact moment it clicked for me.
It wasn’t dramatic.
It was quiet.
I simply said:
“Yeshua… come closer than I’ve allowed before.”
And something shifted.
Not outside.
Inside.
🔥 The Invitation of 10 Nisan
This day is not just history.
It’s an invitation.
Not just to remember the Lamb…
…but to receive Him deeply.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock…”
— Revelation 3:20
He doesn’t force His way in.
Even now.
Even today.
❤️ Final Thought: The Lamb Was Never Meant to Stay Outside
Here’s what I can’t shake:
In Egypt, the lamb didn’t stay in the field.
It didn’t remain distant.
It came into the home.
And I wonder…
What would change in your life if Yeshua wasn’t just:
A belief
A teaching
A tradition
…but a daily, close, living presence?
Because 10 Nisan is not just about choosing Him.
It’s about realizing… He’s been drawing near to you all along.

Abba…
On this 10 Nisan, I don’t want distance anymore.
I don’t want surface-level faith.
I choose the Lamb again—intentionally.
Yeshua, come close… not just to my mind, but to my heart.
Let me walk with You these days…
So I can truly understand Your sacrifice.
Amen.
