14th Nisan 5786 Tuesday, March 31st 2026 - The Night You Almost Walked Past Redemption - And Didn’t Even Know It
I didn’t realize how close I was to missing Him.
Not rejecting Him.
Not denying Him.
Just… walking past Him.
Busy. Distracted. Religious. Familiar.
And yet—completely unaware that redemption was standing right in front of me.
A Night That Changed Everything… But Not Everyone Noticed
I imagine the streets of Jerusalem on the 14th of Nisan.
Families rushing.
Lambs being chosen.
Bread being prepared.
Voices rising with anticipation.
It looked like obedience.
But deep inside, I wonder…
How many were going through the motions?
How many were remembering Egypt… but missing their present Deliverer?
How many prepared a lamb… while ignoring THE Lamb?
I ask myself this because I’ve done the same thing.
The First Passover: A Pattern We Were Never Meant to Forget
Let’s go back.
“Speak to all the congregation of Israel… On the tenth day… every man shall take for himself a lamb…” — Exodus 12:3
“Your lamb shall be without blemish…” — Exodus 12:5
“They shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts…” — Exodus 12:7
“When I see the blood, I will pass over you…” — Exodus 12:13
I’ve read this so many times.
But one day, it hit me differently.
This wasn’t just history.
This was a prophetic rehearsal.
The Problem We Don’t Talk About Enough
Here’s the uncomfortable truth I had to face:
I can honor the feast…
But still miss the fulfillment.
I can:
Celebrate Passover
Teach my children
Prepare the table
Recite the story
…and still not fully see Him.
That realization shook me.
Because God never intended for Passover to be empty tradition.
It was always meant to point to something… someone… greater.
“Behold, The Lamb…” — But Did I Really See Him?
“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” — John 1:29
I’ve heard this verse before.
But I started asking myself:
Do I live like I believe it?
Or has it become… familiar?
Because familiarity can be dangerous.
It can make holy things feel ordinary.
The Lamb Was Examined… Just Like in Exodus
In Exodus, the lamb wasn’t randomly chosen.
It was:
Observed
Examined
Proven spotless
And then… sacrificed.
Now look at Yeshua.
He entered Jerusalem days before Passover.
And what happened?
He was questioned by leaders
Tested publicly
Watched closely
“I find no fault in Him.” — John 19:6
Even the authorities couldn’t find blemish.
I paused when I realized this.
This wasn’t coincidence.
This was fulfillment.
The Moment That Breaks Me Every Time
“Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover… And he said to the Jews, ‘Behold your King!’” — John 19:14
At the very moment lambs were being prepared…
Yeshua was being presented.
Not hidden. Not symbolic.
Visible. Real. Rejected.
And this is where it gets personal for me.
Because I ask:
👉 Would I have recognized Him?
👉 Or would I have been too focused on the ritual to see the reality?
The Doorposts of My Heart
In Egypt, the blood wasn’t optional.
It was the difference between life and death.
But here’s what I wrestled with:
It wasn’t enough that the lamb died.
The blood had to be applied.
And I felt the Spirit press this into my heart:
“Have you applied the blood… or do you just know about it?”
That question changed me.
Because knowing isn’t the same as trusting.
And hearing isn’t the same as surrendering.
What Yeshua Said That I Couldn’t Ignore
“This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” — Matthew 26:28
He didn’t speak randomly.
He spoke during Passover.
Because He is the message of Passover.
The Real Struggle (And Maybe You Feel This Too)
Sometimes I struggle with:
Feeling unworthy
Carrying guilt
Trying to “be good enough”
Wondering if I’ve gone too far
But then I remember…
Passover wasn’t about perfect people.
It was about covered people.
The Breakthrough That Set Me Free
This truth unlocked something deep in me:
God didn’t say,
“When I see your effort…”
He said,
“When I see the blood…” — Exodus 12:13
That’s it.
Not my performance.
Not my perfection.
Not my past.
Just… the blood.
So What Do I Do With This Today?
I stopped overcomplicating it.
Here’s how I respond now:
1. I Slow Down and Actually See Him
Not just the story
Not just the tradition
But Him
2. I Let It Become Personal
He didn’t just die for “the world”
He died for me
3. I Apply the Blood Daily
Through trust
Through surrender
Through repentance
4. I Refuse to Let Familiarity Blind Me
I revisit the story with fresh eyes
I ask God to keep my heart soft
The Question I Can’t Escape… And Neither Can You
This is the question that stays with me:
👉 Am I celebrating the Lamb… or truly receiving Him?
Because there’s a difference.
And it’s an eternal one.
A Final Moment Between You and God
If I could sit across from you right now, I’d say this gently:
Don’t miss Him.
Not this year.
Not this moment.
Not again.
He is not hidden.
He is not distant.
He is not complicated.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Closing Reflection (Sit With This)
Where have I become too familiar with holy things?
Have I applied the blood… or just learned about it?
Am I carrying something He already paid for?
I didn’t realize how close I was to missing Him.
But now I see.
And once you see…
You can’t go back to just going through the motions.
